LESSON OBJECTIVE:
 The students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of Stage 14 vocabulary by reviewing
vocabulary and taking a quiz.
 The students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of characters in Stage 14 stories by
completing a worksheet and using the stage stories.
TASK ANALYSIS:
Do the students know Stage 14 vocab? (yes)
Do the students know adjective noun agreement? (possibly)
Do the students know the culture for Stage 14? (possibly)
KEY TERMS: vocabulary, Stage 14, “Quintus advenit,” noun, adjective, agreement
SEQUENCE OF THE LESSON
Anticipatory Set:
 Review for vocabulary quiz using “VINCO”
 Students write the Latin vocabulary words in the squares
 Call out English words for students
 First person to win gets +5, second, +4, third +3, and rest of class gets +2 on quiz
Teacher Input:
 Go over WB 14.8-exemplum quaere- as a class after elbow partners
 Sight-reading “Quintus advenit”
 Go over worksheet with characters as a class
Modeling:
 Show students how to set up “VINCO” board
 Translating sentences
Checks for Understanding:
 When going over “Who’s who and what’s what” worksheet ask questions about stories to
review all stories
 WB 14.8 ask how they know noun/adjective forms, prepositions, etc.
Guided Practice:
 Translating “Quintus advenit” together as a class
