BODY First Major Point: Davy Crockett was a frontiersman who became a folk hero Born and raised in Tennessee Hunter & Fisherman Volunteered in the Indian wars from 1813-1815 After his return, his wife, Polly, gave birth to their third child, but Polly passed away later that summer Married Elizabeth Patton who was a widow with two children (Transition)Davy Crockett went from a frontiersman to a politician. Second Major Point: Crockett’s accomplishments in the Government 1821, Crockett was elected into the Tennessee Legislature Reelected in 1823, and defeated in 1825 In 1827, Entered the U.S. House of Representatives In 1829, reelected in the U.S. House of Representatives In 1831, Crockett was defeated In 1833, Crockett was reelected in the House of Representatives (Transition)Crockett lost his election in 1835, so he traveled to Texas in search for a better political career.
