Symposium Title: Wireless
Communications, Networks and Systems
Summary: With the steady recovery of the telecommunications industry sector, more 3G cellular mobile
systems are being rolled out with increasing multimedia-oriented services and applications. More hotspots
are planned and/or deployed leading to the proliferation of Wi-Fi wireless LANs. In addition, with the rapid
emergence of WiMaX (IEEE 802.16), which provides wide area high speed access with the possibility of
mobility support proves to be exciting and promising. In research laboratories, higher speed but shorter
range radio systems such as Ultra Wideband (UWB) are under intense development, along with the
concepts of pervasive computing and communications using wireless ad-hoc and sensor networks. The
objective of this symposium is to provide a platform for researchers and technologists to present new ideas
and contributions in the form of technical papers, panel discussions as well as testbed implementations and
real-world evaluation of many ideas in wireless communications. To ensure complete coverage of advances
in wireless communication and networking technologies for the current and future systems, the wireless
communications, networks and systems symposium seeks original contributions in, but not limited to, the
following topical areas:
