Create a PowerPoint Presentation about the
Commercial Printing Process
Create a PowerPoint presentation explaining the commercial
printing process. In order to do this you will need to create a
minimum of 1 slide for each of the following points:
• the format in which the file should be sent to the printing company (i.e. would it
be sent as a paper copy or electronically and why, would it be posted or emailed and
why, what file type would you use and why)
• colour separations (What does this mean? How would you prepare your document
for it?)
• the printing process eg digital printing, offset lithography (What are these
methods? How are they similar or different to each other? What are the
benefits/drawbacks of each?)
• return and checking of final copy
• paper quality, weight and finishing
• cutting, folding and stapling/binding.
