ContiTech makes wind farms quieter
Specialist in vibration isolation launches product brochure
for the wind energy sector
Hanover, May 2009. With a new product brochure especially for the wind
energy sector, ContiTech is strengthening its involvement in the renewable
energies market. “Obtaining environmentally friendly power from the forces
of nature is one of the key challenges of our time. ContiTech Vibration Control is contributing towards meeting this challenge by supplying mounts for
wind energy installations”, explains Thomas Knickelmann, wind energy sector manager at ContiTech Vibration Control. In a wind turbine, these
mounts can absorb harmful vibrations to protect the nacelle cover, generator and transmission system. This increases the service life of a turbine and
makes it quieter.
The aim of the brochure that the company has launched is to provide the
wind energy sector with targeted and concise information about effective
use of the company’s rubber and plastic anti-vibration products. The sixpage brochure uses examples from ContiTech’s SCHWINGMETALL® and
MEGI® range to illustrate how even complex mounting tasks can be efficiently and reliably dealt with in this specific industry. “We also want the
brochure to show the strategic importance that wind power now has for us,”
says Knickelmann.
Readers are also informed about ContiTech’s comprehensive customer
service and can find out how online product databases can be used for a
targeted search for products, specifications and technical design fundamentals. The brochure is available in German and English. It can be ordered free of charge at service@contitech.de, order number WT 5994_d or
WT 5994_e, or on the Internet at www.contitech.de.
