In the first part you will discover terms from with in the excel environment and define them with definitions you find from the Internet, in the second part you will create a crossword puzzle with the terms you have defined. We will go over a tutorial to demonstrate how to create a crossword puzzle in Excel. Then you will use that knowledge to create your own crossword. Part 1 Look through Excel and find 15 terms that you are unfamiliar with and through research from Excel itself or from the Internet define the terms using a complete definition that you and others like you will be able to understand. For example, one of your terms might be cell. On the internet the following definition was found: A cell is the area in an Excel sheet where the column and the row intersect. This area can hold information or data of many different types including text, numbers and formulas. So the clue for cell might read: an area in a spreadsheet when columns and rows intersect Part 2 Use the terms and the definitions that you have listed to make a crossword puzzle. We will go over the techniques for creating a crossword in Excel. Try to sketch out your crossword on paper first to get the words to line up in some fashion and then create it in Excel. The more words you get into the crossword the more points you will receive. If the crossword has at least 10 words and is a working crossword you will get full credit. Anything under that will have points deducted. Anything over 10 will receive 2 extra credit points per word with a max of 10 extra credit points or 15 words. Each word should have a clue for the across and down words where necessary. You can cut your clues down a little from your definitions to make it more challenging. Print your Puzzle and turn it in.
