Straight Talk Wireless In-Store Demonstration Program
Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for our stores to significantly increase sales and awareness of Straight Talk
Wireless, the #1 selling pre-paid wireless brand at Walmart. Straight Talk Wireless Associates will conduct
short in-store demonstrations of Straight Talk Wireless phones at your local store and during that period there
will be significant National TV, Local Radio, In-Store TV, PR, and Social Media weight driving customers to visit
your local Walmart and participate in the store event.
For each demo completed, Straight Talk Wireless will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation up to $1
Million dollars. Your support is important to accomplish this goal which will enable Make- A-Wish to grant more
wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions in your community.
When
The demo schedule will be on four Saturdays during September and October:
9/22, 9/29, 10/6 and 10/13 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.
In addition, Straight Talk Wireless Associates will answer basic ST questions and hand out Straight Talk
brochures, a small premium item and a takeaway card to those taking the demo.
In addition, Straight Talk Wireless Associates will be conducting a pre-visit on 9/18 or 9/19 to introduce
themselves to store management and make sure materials have arrived.
During the pre-visit, the Straight Talk Wireless Associates will be activating the demonstration phone and will
require assistance with placing it back in the cage in Electronics or Security Room
Participation
In order for the donation to be made to Make-A-Wish, customers participating will write their first name on a
slip of paper which Straight Talk Wireless Associates will place in a pre-addressed envelope and ship to a
centralized location to be counted and destroyed thereafter.
Event Day
 Provide a location and a table for the demo event in Action Alley near the front of the store, near the
checkouts. Research shows that this location is critical to driving Walmart Wireless incremental sales at
your store and incremental unaided brand awareness tremendously.
 A Demo Kit box will be shipped to the store ahead of time, clearly marked “Straight Talk Wireless Make-AWish Demo Kit”. As it arrives to the store, please have it stored in the locked cage in Electronics or Security
Room and make it available to the Straight Talk Wireless Associates at the start of each event .
 Per Walmart Marketing’s recommendation, we request that you allow Straight Talk Wireless Associates to
place additional signage driving customers to the demo location. Walmart Marketing is requesting to have
this signage stay in the following five areas 7 days a week for the entire duration of the program (from 9/22
to 10/13):

This is important because it will build awareness that Walmart has Wireless.





All care will be taken to place traffic-driving signage in areas where they do not create a traffic hazard.
Straight Talk Wireless Associates will place them at the beginning of the first Saturday event (9/22) and
remove them the last Saturday event (10/13).
At certain stores there will be a Make-A-Wish volunteer available with signage outside the store, inviting
Walmart customers to visit the demo area. If a Make-A-Wish volunteer is not available, just the signage will
be outside the store. Make-A-Wish volunteers or Straight Talk Wireless Associates will place the sign at the
beginning of each store event (at 10am) and remove it after the event (at 4pm).
Allow Straight Talk Wireless Associates to use your store’s helium tank to fill up four balloons for each
Saturday demo event.
Upon arrival, the Straight Talk Wireless Associate will check in and meet with the Store Manager to
introduce the program and talk about logistics.
Demo Kit box will need to be stored in locked cage in Electronics or Security Room at the end of each
Saturday event, and kept locked from Saturday to Saturday. Store to provide assistance with this.
