From The Pastoral Search Committee
That Fifth Season
The Pastoral Search Committee has completed
the first phase of its work, which involved the
gathering of information about the
congregation, its history, and the community
around us.
The lengthening days draw the frost
from the ground
And before we’re aware, there are
robins around;
Kid’s sneakers turn brown as the
walking gets soggy,
When the ground that was frozen
gets suddenly boggy.
There’s mud on the carpets, and
mud on the mats;
And the hood of the car shows brown
footprints of cats;
As the last lump of snow leaves the
eaves with a thudTwixt winter and spring comes the
season called “mud”!
By Bill Thoma
We thank the members of congregation who
participated in the survey.
This work will guide the Committee as it
searches for the right person to be the next
pastor of our church. The Committee also
produced a Church Profile to inform candidates
about the Greenville Community Church.
The Search Committee is now meeting on a
weekly basis as it moves into the search phase.
So far we have received 11 profiles with more
on the way. The committee hopes to conduct
telephone interviews with candidates during the
week of April 27.
We are pleased to report that the list of
candidates so far has included a number of
highly qualified candidates. It is our hope that
we can find the right person in time to have
him or her called by the end of the summer,
but we will not let that goal override the
objective of finding the right person.
Please keep the Pastoral Search Committee and
its mission in your prayers.
Rolf Wulfsberg, Chair
Eltje Brunemeyer, Interim Minister.
