You need only attend the laboratory on the day(s) when you are assigned to do experiments. A) Heat capacity ratio. You will have one day to do the experiment. You should do at least five runs for the gas you have been assigned, and pool your data with the other group working on the same day. B) Enthalpy of vaporization. You will have one day to do the experiment. You should do two independent sets of measurements. C) Bomb calorimetry. You will have two days to do the experiment. You should do a minimum of three runs with benzoic acid and three runs with your organic compound. 2) You must bring eye protection (safety glasses or safety goggles) with you to the laboratory and use them while in the laboratory. You are also expected to know the location of safety equipment (fire extinguishers, eyewash, shower) as well as the location of the telephone in the laboratory, and the emergency exits. 3) You must bring a bound notebook with you to record experimental information. 4) Laboratory reports are to be written individually and are due by 1:00pm on the date indicated in the above schedule. Late reports will be penalized as indicated in the course syllabus. A sample laboratory report is given in the textbook for the class.
