The 7 th grade teachers showed us how to use a program called
Faculty Meeting
InspireData. This is a program on the computer that can help teachers with many things. The teachers showed us how to create assessments and questionnaires, how to represent the data, how to change representations and how to assign students numbers and view their responses.
Teacher Workday – Beginners ActivBoard
Training
During this teacher workday, an ActivBoard trainer came and held two classes about the ActivBoard. The first one I went to was the beginner’s class. In this class, I learned how to color objects, how to use colors from websites, I learned about the toolbox and what each icon does, I found out where to find help modules, I learned how to create new flipcharts, I learned tips to help care for your board and I learned about the program the
ActivBoard runs on called Promethean Planet.

Exploratory Meeting
After the beginners class the trainer hosted an intermediate class.
I stayed for this class and I learned how to use magic ink, how to take snapshots, how to create magic ink icons, how to organize the layout, how to hide items, how to attach videos and pictures and finally how to lock items on the screen.
This meeting was held during our morning planning period. We discussed issues affecting exploratory classes, the dates of Hoops for Heart, when certain chorus and band need to pull students out of class, we talked about information on a grant, the upcoming school dance, changing semester schedules and peer observations.
During this faculty meeting we listened to a presentation lead by other teachers. We then discussed and brainstormed how to get parents more involved in the school and we discussed and brainstormed how to get parents more involved in their student’s school experience by checking up on homework and etc.
Here we discussed how changing the scheduling for next school year would go for exploratory classes because there is a possibility that the school is moving from a 9 weeks rotation to semester rotation.

1b.3 Evidence of Completion
In the box below list two identified target areas from your review of school data accessed through DPI. Explain why you chose each target.
1. From the information I gathered, scores in math end-of-grade tests in my school were generally lower then the district and state scores. In order to increase those scores, teachers could use websites that give “classroom examples of innovative teaching methods and insights into student learning, tools for mathematics instruction that teachers can use immediately, and video tours of the ideas and materials on the website.”
2. Just over half of the economically disadvantages passed both the reading and math tests in their grade level. Tutoring programs and research-based programs that are known to help economically disadvantaged students should be explored and implemented.
