Projects at CIDA
1. IFMS Core Release Upgrade Project (ICRUP)
The purpose of this project is to align CIDA’s Material Management Module with the
IFMS Program Office CORE Footprint.
At CIDA, the SAP-MM module is currently customized to a degree (at least
30%) where system maintenance is now expensive and responding to new
business requirements is becoming very difficult.

Logistics system simplification (LSS) / Transformation for results (T4R)
The purpose of the T4R-ESM project is to modify the Enterprise Resource Planning
(ERP) to incorporate Transformation for Results (T4R) related organizational
structure changes, from both a Financial and Human Resources perspective.

2. Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (CEAA)
WEB screens within projects or programs that need to be populated according to
the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (CEAA). Project Officers, Environment
Specialists and the Environmental Integration Unit have specific fields for which they
are responsible. This allows management to quickly and easily meet reporting
requirements for the CEAA.
3. Web-Based Project Self Service (PSS)
PSS is a response to chronic, project coding quality issues in each branch and the
resulting effect on Agency reporting. A systems approach has been adopted to
simplify the project management process and improve project data quality and
reporting. Using a “web based” portal, PSS aims to eliminate the complexities of
navigating the current SAP PS Module.
Project Self Service (PSS) will be released to all project officers in the Agency and
has been designed to (1) streamline core elements of SAP project management, (2)
simplify & improve coding and is expected to (3) improve the accuracy of our reports.

4. Creditor Reporting System (CRS)
The CRS++ is to implement a solution that will help CIDA meet its international
(OECD-DAC) and domestic (ODA Accountability Act) reporting requirements on
Official Development Assistance by addressing reporting issues of data quality and
timeliness through one integrated process.
5. Afghanistan Task Force (ATF)
Aligned with Canada’s whole-of-government approach, CIDA will deliver
development assistance in partnership with DFAIT, DND, and other departments to
advance Canada’s mission in Afghanistan. Canada is concentrating its development
efforts in Kandahar province by increasing its aid and development programming,
and focusing on three signature projects. In addition, decentralizing staff and
delegating authorities to the field will increase effectiveness. Equality between
women and men, and environmental sustainability are crosscutting themes in all
CIDA programming in Afghanistan. Communication of results will involve closely
monitoring and reporting on progress against six key priorities, established
benchmarks, and associated targets on a quarterly basis to Parliament.
6. Results Based Management (RBM)
During the 1990s, many of the OECD countries have undertaken extensive public
sector reforms in response to economic, social and political pressures.
A central feature of the reforms has been the emphasis on improving performance;
that is, on ensuring that government activities achieve desired results. Performance
management, also referred to as results based management, can be defined as a
broad management strategy aimed at achieving important changes in the way
government agencies operate, with improving performance (achieving better results)
as the central orientation.
