Purpose of WFP
The WFP was formed because wanted to end hunger and
give food to people around the world. Save lives and
protect livelihoods in emergencies. Prepare for
emergencies. Restore and rebuild lives after emergencies.
Reduce chronic hunger and under nutrition everywhere.
Strengthen the capacity of countries to reduce hunger.

Leader
The Executive Director is Josette Sheeran. She is the
11th Executive Director since April 2007.

Headquarters
The headquarters are located in Rome Italy. Right by
a McDonalds.
How they helped
One way they helped is when they helped Pakistan. There
was a big flood after heavy monsoon rain near the end of
July 2010 and they sent flood packages. Another way they
helped is they gave young children nutrition products in
Hati May 2010. They give vouchers to poor people in
Afghanistan so that they can get food for there families.
