Jung asserted that there is an archetypal ground in the collective unconscious of the human
psyche which has a determining influence on our life path, individually as well as collectively. In
this monthly film series, we intend to give some sense of our very long history as human beings
through the medium of film. More specifically, how archetypes evolve within human history
and culture and how they contribute to shaping it. We would like to create a discussion forum
in which we reflect on our heritage and, in addition, highlight some of the areas of human life
(such as the feminine and the irrational mythopoetic aspect of the psyche) that has fallen into
the shadow of our collective culture over time. These evenings are open to all who are
interested.
A panel discussion based on each film will be offered to participants by the above 3 analysts,
exploring the relationship between archetype and culture.
Dates and topics
27 February 2015:
BBC interview with Jung: Face to Face
‘The psyche is not of today! Its age is measured in many millions of years. Individual
consciousness is only the flower and fruit of a season, which grows up from the perennial
rhizome under the earth, and finds itself more in harmony with the truth if it takes the existence
of the rhizome into account. For the root-network is the mother of all things… ‘
27 March 2015:

The Pyramid code
The Pyramid Code is a documentary series of 5 episodes that explores the pyramid fields and ancient
temples in Egypt as well as ancient megalithic sites around the world looking for clues to matriarchal
consciousness, ancient knowledge and sophisticated technology in a Golden Age. The series is based on the
extensive research done in 23 trips to Egypt and 50 other countries around the world by Dr. Carmen Boulter
in the Graduate Division of Educational Research at the University of Calgary. The Pyramid Code features
interviews with prominent scholars and authors in multidisciplinary fields: geology, physics, astrophysics,
archeology, biological engineering, magnetic field theory, hieroglyphics, and Egyptology. We will be offering
episodes four and five in this series. Episode four describes how the sacred feminine was honored and
existed in balance with the sacred masculine. Episode five considers the cycles of time through the Gold,
Silver, Bronze and Iron Age of Plato’s Great Year.
31 July 2015:
The Prophecy of the Seeress
On the brink of Iceland's financial meltdown, a CEO in Reykjavik visits a tarot card reader in a
desperate attempt to avert his fate. Suddenly the two are transported to another time and place.
In a parallel world Odin, the father of the Viking gods, has sought out a Wise Woman to hear her
knowledge of the past, present, and future. He wants to know if there is anything he can do to
avoid predicted Ragnarok - the destruction of the world. The Prophecy of the Seeress is based on
a thousand year-old Norse saga called Voluspa. Our modern world has a lot to learn from the
ancient Seeress. Do we have the time to heed her dire warnings?
28 August 2015:
The Dream of the Cosmos
Anne Baring in conversation with Andrew Harvey. Author, lecturer and Jungian Analyst Anne
Baring talking with Andrew Harvey, author and mystic, about her personal life journey,
culminating in her magnum opus "The Dream of the Cosmos: A Quest for the Soul" (2013), a
distillation of her life's work. She is passionately interested in the fate of the Earth and the
survival of our species in this critically important time of evolutionary change. Her work is
devoted to the recognition that we live in an ensouled world and to the restoration of the lost
sense of communion between us and the invisible dimension of the universe, the Great Goddess,
that is the source or ground of all that we call life.
18 September 2015:
Mary Magdalene – Part 1+2
Program One of the DVD, Secrets of Mary Magdalene, strips away the veils of history to reveal
the flesh and blood woman who served as Jesus' foremost apostle and possibly the love of his
life. This documentary examines Mary Magdalene's role in early Christianity and how her
significance may have been deliberately suppressed, and her image tarnished, to serve the
purposes of an evolving Church. It goes on to explore the recent discovery of the Gnostic Gospels
and their revelations as well as examining how for many modern women, Mary Magdalene has
become a symbol of the sacred feminine.
23 October 2015:
The World Within: C.G. Jung In His Own Words
This film explores this very idea as we are offered a glimpse inside C.G. Jung’s “Red Book”, a diary
comprised of descriptions of his dreams and fantasies, colorful paintings, and reflections upon their
possible meanings. These are the creations, as Jung put it, “which have carried me out of time into
seclusion, out of the present into timelessness”. Rare footage of Jung interviewed in Switzerland reveals
him talking at length about his work on dreams, memory, archetypal figures, and the importance of ritual
and fantasy…
4 December 2015:
