I believe that we can use the living organisms around us to create and grow into sustainable spaces. The use of Bio-technology will enable humans to become once again at peace with nature and give back to the environment what it has taken. These materials will have an “Expiration Date” in order to leave room through deterioration and de-composure for improvement and updated technology.

Removal of industrial use buildings and increasing of environmentally friendly residential and commercial buildings. i.

The Department of City Planning (DCP) Proposed a mixed use district

1997 iii.

Changing of land usage from predominately industrial and commercial to residential/community spaces. iv.

Adoption of zoning changes occurred on March 9 th 2005. v.

Zoning has been the same since 1961 in this district which contributed to the South Bronx having one of the highest rates of asthmatic symptoms among school aged children/teens and adults from the surrounding area.

As a result of high Carbon footprint due to air pollutants from global warming, dense traffic conditions, construction and neglect (Buildings with vacancies and underuse)

The South Bronx is the perfect location for to be the recipients of residential and commercial sustainable spaces using natural materials and urban farming.
