Attendance:
Freshman are required to attend all lectures. Students who miss a class are still
responsible for the subject matter covered in that class and any announcements that are made as well.
Examinations:
Your attendance is required for all examinations. Any student planning not to
attend or failing to attend an examination must present a medical excuse or written statement from your
advisor or authorized person stating the reason for the absence. A makeup examination will only be
scheduled after a medical excuse or written statement is received. Failure to take any examination will
result in an incomplete (“N” grade) being awarded as a final course grade.
Extra Credit Problem Sets: Throughout the course there will be available three extra credit sets of
problems to be turned in on the date stated in the problem set. The problem sets will generally be
available on the subsequent lecture after an examination is returned to you. These problem sets are
optional and should be completed by students who want to improve their examination grades. Students
are expected to solve the problems in the problem set with no assistance from anyone or any other
source other than the MLRC or their text. Each problem set will be graded and returned to you
generally within a week after receiving them. The grade received on each problem set will be
1
averaged in with the grade received on the examination associated with the problem set . Problem
sets will not be accepted after the date stated for that particular set of problems.
Independent Study: Students who have successfully completed an AP calculus course with an “A”
grade can apply to complete this course on an independent study basis. Please make an appointment to
see me to discuss the details.
