Bruce was questioned recently by a customer about the fan and aluminum square
that is located above the CPU. Which of the following statements would describe the
components the customer has asked about?
A.
B.
C.
D.
The two objects in question are the heating fan and the heating element. The
heating fan pushes warm air onto the heating element so that the CPU can be
heated and operate at maximum potential.
The two objects in question are the heat sink and the cooling fan. The heat sink
allows warm air to be pushed away from the processor while cooling fan pulls
cooler air towards the area to eliminate overheating of the CPU.
The two objects are called the CPU mounting block. Both the fan and the
aluminum square the CPU to the motherboard and allow a solid connection to
be made and air to be pushed towards the hard drive.
The two objects in question are additions and are not commonly found inside
the standard PC. The two items are additions for gaming PC’s where lots of
processing needs to occur and multiple CPU’s will be used at one time.

Small Business Efficiency Tips - Microsoft Excel - Using the Auto Fill Feature
One of my favorite shortcuts in Excel is the auto fill feature. If you move your mouse to the lower right
corner of any cell, it will become a thin plus sign. By click on the plus and holding down your mouse, you will
copy what is in the cell to the adjacent cells.
However, depending on what is in the cell, it is not an exact copy - it will increment. For example, if you
have a month in the cell, it will increment by months (January, February, March, etc). The same holds true
for days of the week, quarters, etc. You will see a tool tip that will tell you what the last value will be as you
continue to drag.
You can also force Excel to increment for a set period. For example, let's say that you want to increment by
five days. If you put the first date in a cell, then the date five days later in the adjacent cell, select the two
days and then click and drag on the auto fill handle, the cells you drag over will be filled with dates five days
apart. The default increments are:
-
for time is by hour
- for dates is by day
- for days
- days of the week
By having the ability to select two cells with a different increment than the default is very helpful.
This is especially helpful if you are entering sequential numbers for checks or invoices. If you enter the first
check number and then the next check number, select both and drag down on the auto fill handle, the cells
will be filled with the sequential numbers.
If you have a long list of items and then decide to add a column to your worksheet with a formula, you can
simply double-click on the auto fill handle and it will complete the formula all the way down the worksheet.
The program will look at the cell to the left and fill down until it sees a blank cell.
You can also create a custom list by using Tools/Options and Custom List. Type in the entries for you list
and click on the Add button. This could be a list of employees, products, etc. You can also use this option to
create a list from a series of cells on your work sheet. Then all you need to do is enter the first name and
use the auto fill handle to drag and the additional names will be added sequentially.
PLEASE GO ON TO THE NEXT PAGE 
As soon as you release the mouse button, you will notice a little box in the lower right corner, which is your
auto fill options. When you click on the downward pointing arrow, you can change what the default auto fill
options. For example, you may want to simply copy formats, fill weekdays instead of all days, etc. As soon
as you move to another cell and start working, this box will go away. So make use of this capability
immediately.
