2016-2017 54th Season
Checklist
This is for you to double check and make sure all items are being submitted. Be sure to keep all
your pages together (pages 1 thru 6 + PR). If you are missing any item on this checklist and you
turn in your submission packet without it, your packet may be returned to you for its completion.
Only completed submission packets will be considered by the play reading committee.

Submission deadline: March 1, 2016 as the season will be selected before the Annual Carr Center
Cake Auction held in mid-April. Early submissions for our 54th season are encouraged.
Late/incomplete submissions will not be considered for season selection.

2016-2017 54th Season
Agreement between You and Zanesville Community Theatre, Inc.
If my/our show is selected by Zanesville Community Theatre, Inc. for production then I/We agree to the
following conditions:
1.
This submission package represents a contract between my/our production team and the producing
organization, Zanesville Community Theatre, Inc.
2.
No dramatic work presented by ZCT will be produced in any manner or venue (main season,
workshop or second season), without the express prior written permission of the publisher, playwright
or agent for the dramatic work. Shakespearean and public domain works are exempt from many of the
forgoing restrictions.
3.
No dramatic work produced by ZCT will be filmed, videotaped or reproduced electronically in its
entirety without the express prior written permission of the publisher, playwright, or agent of the
dramatic work. Still pictures and videotaped clips are permitted under most contracts and may be used
for PR purposes only. Again, Shakespeare and public domain works are exempt from the above
restrictions.
4.
The production team will be wholly responsible for all late fees, additional royalty (caused by late
return of materials), and material replacement fees for production, such as, but not limited to: orchestra
scores, script rental, sound effects, computer discs (CD/DVD), costumes, props, set and special
effects/lighting/sound equipment, and damage to same. ZCT will not assume these costs due to any
negligence or extreme procrastination on your part.
5.
The production team will be responsible for identifying and clearing any music used outside the scope
of ZCT’s blanket BMI & ASCAP licenses. These license agreements with BMI and ASCAP only include
pre-show, intermission, scene changes in black, and walkout music. Music used w/o the proper
clearance(s) may result in legal action by the rights holder and will be born by the production team.
6.
Auditions are open to all. Occasionally, auditions may be held after regularly scheduled auditions. If
open auditions fail to complete a cast, a production team may use any legal means available to cast the
remaining parts.
7.
ZCT enjoys free advertising in the form of PSAs (Public Service Announcements – “free” advertising
the government regulated electronic media are required to offer the community they serve) as well as
free placements in the print media. No paid advertising is ever purchased by ZCT or any production
team.

do so will mean your submission packet is incomplete and will be returned for completion. If packet is not
completed upon return, the Board of Directors will reject it.

Please give a description as to why you would like to direct this play at ZCT:
If you need more room, feel free to attach additional sheets.
We would like to start promoting your show as soon as it is selected for production in our
new season. Therefore, please include the logo you’d like to use for your show. Formats can
be as camera-ready line art (slicks, no ink-jet), laser print outs, electronic versions in EPS, or
PSD. Please provide a color version as well as a B/W version.
