Bethel’s academic catalog and transfer information can be viewed online at
www.bethel.edu. It can also be sent to you and it is available in the MCTC counseling
office.
This transfer guide is designed to help a student at Minneapolis Community and Technical
College easily choose courses to take at MCTC that will satisfy Bethel general education (core
curriculum) requirements through Spring 2011. Unless otherwise indicated, one (1) course from
each area will satisfy that gen ed requirement. Pages 16-31 in the 2011-2012 Bethel catalog
provides further information regarding Bethel’s transfer and general education requirements. In
most cases, with careful planning you will be able to fulfill MCTC or Minnesota Transfer
Curriculum objectives, while also completing coursework that Bethel requires. Contact Bethel or
MCTC for assistance with your planning.
Here are some additional guidelines to consider:
-Most courses required for a specific academic major should be taken at Bethel.
Students in majors that have sequential courses (such as the sciences) must
pre-plan carefully with the specific department at Bethel.
-Any MCTC course taken to satisfy a requirement for a major at Bethel should
be approved by the specific academic department at Bethel.
-Bethel’s programs are designed to be completed in 4 years. Early communication
with you will allow Bethel to help you to determine when it is best for you to
transfer.
-Courses that are listed under more than one category can only count once. Students
can choose which category they prefer.
-A grade of ‘C’ or higher is required on each course to be accepted by Bethel.
-An official transcript must be sent to Bethel once the course is completed and the grade
posted.
