Learning Outcomes
[These outcomes are necessary to enable students to attain the essential
knowledge and skills embodied in the program’s educational objectives.]
Upon successful completion of the course the student will be able to:
 Simulate the behavior of 3-D models in their working environment using
COSMOS Finite Element Analysis
 Apply the sheet metal, cam, and gear modules in SolidWorks
 Use advanced features of design in a “state of the art” 3-D software system
 Present motion of parts and assemblies using Animator to communicate the basic
design intent
 Create models of fluid flow through control volumes and over surfaces
 Communicate analysis results
