Member Reports
PIAC members gave brief reports on parent involvement activities happening in their
schools/clusters. A few examples were:
- Crofton Elementary is working with NASA to set up a robotics presentation for
grades 3-5 via Adobe Connect. Carol Streeter forwarded a flyer about this
opportunity, which is attached to these minutes. She also mentioned that Don
Thomas, a former astronaut, may be available to do student presentations. She
will contact him to check on his availability.
- Pam Bukowski reported that information nights on Common Core State Standards
were held in January and February at Annapolis HS and Old Mill HS. Anne
Weaver mentioned that the PowerPoint presentation used on both nights, plus a
brochure on Common Core Mathematics, are available at www.aacps.org/family

- Pam also shared that Phoenix Annapolis is holding monthly family dinners as a
way to bring together families from all over the county whose students are
attending Phoenix.
- Corkran Middle is holding an MSA information event this Saturday at the
Woodside Apartment complex.
- Severna Park Middle is holding a cluster-wide Earth Day event on a Saturday.
Both schools and community groups will be represented.

each grade.
