TENDER FOR THE RENOVATION / FURNISHING OF ALLAHABAD BANK,
GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. Each page of this tender shall be signed by the contractor.
2. Payment to the Contractor Agency shall be made as per actual work done at site.
3. Quantities of work may increase or decrease at site as per requirement, which shall not affect the rates
quoted by the contractor.
4. Furnishing works including electrical works etc. shall be done to the complete satisfaction of Bank and
Architect –in – charge.
5. All Teak / Cedar wood / rubber wood to be used should be Knotless which is to be polished with all
background surface preparation courses maintaining the visibility of wood grains.
6. The rates to be quoted shall include the cost of material, labour charges, carriage, sales-tax, or any / all
other taxes required.
7. The contractor agency shall keep particular vigil on his workers / carpenters / painters etc. to maintain
very good workmanship of all items, failing which no payment shall be made and on claim of material /
labour used shall be made to him in any case and the same work shall be executed by him again without
charging any extra cost.
8. All rates shall be quoted in words & figures & any cutting, over writing shall be signed.
9. All items to be executed as per drawings. If any change is required, the same shall be brought to the
notice of Architect – in – Charge.
10. Any tender / quotation containing clerical or arithmetical mistakes shall be rejected.
11. Any addition, alteration or correction shall be signed and stamped properly.
12. Contractor agencies are advised (before quoting the rates) to inspect the site of the proposed work. He
must go through all drawings and specifications and documents.
13. The Bank reserves the right to accept / reject any tender / quotation without assigning reason.
14. The Contractor agency should have already executed works of furnishing interiors & exterior, civil works
of very good workmanship.
15. Quality of material and workmanship rejected by the Architect / Concerned Authorities shall be removed
immediately by the contractor and rectified / replaced.
16. No advance payment shall be made to the Contractor on supply of any material supplied at site for
execution. Payment shall only be made on execution of any concerned / particular item.
17. The rates shall include the cost of coat of ant termite treatment on all wooden frame work and all
commercial ply / board used for partitions and paneling, furniture etc. The contractor /s shall have to
dismantle & dispose the existing counters, tables & partitions within the quoted cost of the total furnishing
works.
18. Rates for partitions, paneling, wall cladding and false ceiling shall include cutting and making good of
necessary cut – outs / chiseling to be made for electrical conduits, switch boards etc.
19. Bank shall not be responsible for any lose or damage to the contractor / labour due to any natural
calamity during the course of construction. Contractor is liable to make good all the damages if any, till
the work is completed and handed over to the Bank authorities.
20. Any payment to the contractor on account of execution of work, whether it is running payment or final,
shall be verified by the Architect – in – Charge.

21. Unless, otherwise mentioned all materials to be used shall be I.S.I. marked. Failure to do so, the work
may be rejected and in that case contractor shall have to remove the defective materials and replace /
re-do the work for which no claim shall be entertained.
22. The total work shall be supervised by the Architect –in – charge and he / she shall be kept fully informed
by the contractor regarding the progress of work.
23. Bank may award the work in part or whole to a single party or any other party.
24. It may please be noted that the Bank is not bound to allot the work to the lowest party. And as such, the
allotment of work shall be based on workability of rates quoted by the contractor on account of quality
work.
25. The bank reserves the right to reject any or all the tenders without assigning any reason whatsoever.
26. The earnest money deposited shall not carry any interest and will be refunded to the unsuccessful
tenderers’.
27. Earnest money paid by the contractor shall be forfeited by the Bank if contractor fails to undertake the job
if he is communicated about acceptance his rates / tender.
28. The contractor shall take all the necessary precautions while working and to safe guard adjacent
property, Bank’s Employees, and traffic persons.
29. All the rates quoted are inclusive of removal of rubbish / debris collected during the progress of work,
rejected materials etc.
30. The contractor shall not directly or indirectly sublet the work to other party without written permission of
the Bank.
31. The quantities mentioned in schedule are provisional and likely to increase / decrease to any extent or
may be omitted thus altering the aggregate value of the contract. No claim for loss or profit / business
shall be entertained on this account.
32. The Bank reserves the right to distribute the work for which quotations have been called, among more
than one parties, if found necessary .No claim in this respect shall be considered and the contractor
agrees to cooperate with other agencies appointed by the Bank.
33. All the workers of the contractor must be properly covered by an insurance policy under “ Workman’s
Compensation act ” and “ Fatal Accidents Act “ .The contractor at his own expenses arrange to effect
and maintain until the virtual completion of the work , and indemnify the bank from all the liabilities arising
out of such events. In case of delay, contractor shall arrange to extend insurance policy till work is
completed.
34. All the work should be completed within the specified period in the tender. If the work is delayed due to
the reasons beyond the control of the contractor, he should keep intimating the Bank explaining, therein
the reasons for such delays, immediately and if in the opinion Bank’s authorities the delay is justified, the
contractor shall be granted extension in time limit.
35. The contractor shall furnish well in time before work commencement at his own cost, color samples,
samples of materials or workmanship that may be called by Bank’s Architect / Engineer for approval.
Rates quoted shall cover for such preliminary work.
36. All the glass panes, door handles / hinges, electric fitting, fans, furniture, records, floors etc. are to be
thoroughly cleaned after the work is completed.
37. The rates quoted by the contractor shall be firm throughout the duration of contract (including extension
of time if any granted) and will not be subject to any fluctuation due to variation in cost of material and
labour.

38. Conditional tenders are liable to be rejected.
39. The successful tenderer is bound to carry out any item of work necessary for the completion of the job
even those such items are not included in schedule of quantities.
40. If in any case work is required to be abandoned , the contractor shall not be entitled for any claims and
he will be paid as per the actual work done till that period.
41. Decision of the Bank shall be final and binding on any matter connected with the work. The matter of any
dispute shall be decided after mutual discussions based on the terms and conditions of this contract.
However, if the matter can not be resolved then the same shall be referred to the respected qualified
person agreed to both the parties and his opinion shall be binding on both the parties. However, this is
precourse to any legal action in this regard.
42. If at any stage during the progress of work , it is observed that the contractor is not progressing the work
with due diligence , care of lagging much behind the schedule or fails to gear up the work despite
instructions from Bank’s Architect ,the Employer (Bank ) reserves the right to terminate the contract with
7 days notice .In such case the contractor shall be liable to pay the Employer to pay any extra cost
involved for the completion of the said work and will not obstruct any way in completing the work through
other agency. After completion of entire work the contractor shall be paid for the actual work executed by
him at the quoted rates after deducting any claims, damages .In case of such termination the security
deposit held by the Bank will be forfeited.
43. Contractor shall follow all rules / regulations in force and should posses the license for employing labour
and also follow all safety measures , labour bye laws and shall be responsible for any lapse.
44. At any stage i.e. during the execution of work, any kind of change reqd. whether it is in design or
specification the same has to be in – corporate by the contractor.
45. Retention money i.e. 5% from final bill shall be retained for one year from the date of completion of
furnishing work.
46. Contractors should note that under no circumstances, the final amount of work should exceed the
sanctioned amount. Any additional expenditure over and above the sanctioned work or any deviation of
work will not be sanctioned.
47. Contractors should give an undertaking to the bank that work will be carried out as per the specifications
and quality of work; workmanship and material used shall be of best quality.
48. Part payment of running bill shall be made in stages after inspection of work by architect and concerned
branch manager.
49. Final payment shall be released only after getting the clearance from the head office, Allahabad bank.
50. Applicable TDS shall be deducted from the payments as per the govt. rules.
51. The contractors shall execute the work in co ordination with the architect and concerned branch
manager.
52. The successful contractor shall submit three sets of stamp papers to our consulting architects

False Ceiling With Steps. - Gypsum Board
Providing and fixing suspended false ceiling (as per
specification of MANUFACTURE.) including steps as per
design with 12.5 mm tapered edge Gyp-board / 12 mm thick
Elephant Gypsum Board to the grid comprising of cold rolled
galvanized metal section to the required line and level. The grid
consists of a perimeter channel (MF6a of dimensions 20 mm X
27 mm X 37 mm X 3.5 M) fixed round the perimeter to receive
and of the ceiling section (MF5) and the outer edges to gypboard. The intermediate channel (MF7 of dimensions 15 mm X
45 mm X 0.9 mm X 3.6 M) at 1200 mm c/c in the one direction
and the ceiling section (MF5 of dimensions 80 mm X 26 mm X
0.5 mm X 3.6 M) at 450 mm c/c in the other direction are
connected by a connecting clip (MF9). The grid is suspended
with an adjustable strap hanger (MF8) of dimensions 25 mm X
0.5 mm at 1200 mm c/c on both ways from the structural soffit
using a soffit cleat and expandable bolts / fasteners Nut and
bolts are used to connect strap hangers to soffit cleats and for
joining ends of channel sections together. The gypsum board
layers are screwed to the M/F ceiling sections with gyp-board
drywall screws. Jointing and screw spotting are then carried out
as per manufacturer’s standard recommendations. Perimeter
Channels (MF7) to be used around the cut outs for light fittings.
A/C ducting etc. The work should be complete as per
instructions of Architect or Engineer in charge. The rates
should be inclusive of two or more coats of plastic emulsion
over a coat of primer to give an even shade. The rate should be
inclusive of making opening with frame etc. for electrical / air
conditioner, A.C. grills & trap door etc. if required & finishing
of ceiling in all respect. Steps/ Vertical bands shall be measured
in square feet. Payments shell be made only for exposed
surfaces & actual measurement at site.

horizontally - vertical members shall be as per drawings in
particular but not be more than 4’0” in any case. 5.0 mm thick
clear plain float glass shall be fixed in partitions with tapered
clips and rubber gaskets. The doors will be made of three
horizontal members and two vertical members provided with 8”
long aluminium tower bolt, door stopper, and aluminium T
section / angle at vertical side. After fixing / embedding of
Glazing / partitions with wall, floor, roof etc., the surface will
be properly repaired / made good with existing specifications.
a). 65 X 44 X 16 Gauge - All horizontal and vertical members
of Glazing / partitions.
b). 114 X 38 X 16 Gauge - All bottom horizontal members of
doors.
c). 83 X 38 X 14 Gauge - All other members of doors.
The rate shall include all hardware to complete the job.

Full Height Partitions
Providing and fixing full height partitions (solid, glazed & semi
glazed) of 2" X 2" kailwood / partal wood frame at 2' c/c both
ways and bottom member 4" X 2" for skirting. The frame is
fixed rigidly at floor level, roof level (at slab / beam) & walls
(if where required). 6.0 mm thick commercial ply (approved
make) with 1.0 mm thick approved shade laminate shall be
fixed on both sides as per design. All wood to be painted in
wood preservative of approved ISI quality. Glass 5.0 mm thick
with etching as per design and doors with locks and hardware’s
is to be provided as per drawing. Teak wood beading 1 1/2" X
1/2" used for fixing glass is polished to matching laminate
shade. The rate includes making provision for electrical
conduits and switch boxes. All job to be done to Architect's
satisfaction / as per bank direction. Measurements to be taken
upto false ceiling level & Payments shell be made only for
exposed surfaces & actual measurement at site, no payment
shell be made above false ceiling.

Low Height Partition
Providing and fixing partition made of 2” X 2” kail wood frame
@ 2’0” to 2’6” c/c vertically & horizontally. The bottom
member shall be kail wood of size 2” X 4”. The kail wood
frame shall be fixed rigidly at floor level & walls with rawl
plugs / wooden lugs. The frame work to be clad with 6.0 mm
thick commercial ply and 1.0 mm thick laminate as per pattern
on both sides upto 3’0” height and 8.0 mm thick glass 1’6”
high fixed with stainless steel glass holders at bottom and side
with top surface free. Teak wood edging / beading shall be
provided at all exposed edges which shall be spirit polished
with matching pigment. All wood to be treated with wood
preservatives of approved ISI quality. All the edges of 8.0 mm
glass shall be duly grinded & polished. The rate shall also
include for providing groves in laminate & wood Payments
shell be made only for exposed surfaces & actual measurement
at site.

Cash Cabin Partition – Front
Providing and fixing glass 12.0 mm thick over cash counter in

front partition 4'-0" height upto 7'-0" with 1" X 1/2" teakwood
beading. All exposed wood work edging / lipping & partition
edges finished with spirit polishing, complete in all respects.
The glass shall have round cut / openings as per design with
grinding complete in all respects.

Cash Cabin Partition - Sides
Providing and fixing side and back partition for Cash cabins
(ht. 7'-6") made of kail / partal wood frame (2" X 2" c/c both
ways and bottom member 4" X 2" for skirting, covered with 6.0
mm thick commercial ply and 1.0 mm thick laminate (approved
colour). The remaining partition upto 7'-0" is finished with 5.0
mm glass and door with all hardware etc. complete. Also
providing for cheque transfer stand is provided. All exposed
wood surfaces to be properly polished approved colour. All
work to be done as per design including 1 1/2" X 1/2"
teakwood beading / lipping / moulding finished with spirit
polishing around door edges and partition edge complete in all
respects.

Providing and fixing aluminium aperture jalli at cash cabin's
top periphery with teakwood beading 50 mm X 100 mm made
to shape as per design. Polished to matching laminate shade /
spirit polishing as per directions of the Bank.

B. Manager, Officer’s & Staff Tables
Table made of 19 mm thk. Commercial block board with 1 mm
thick laminate on outer visible surfaces; single colour on
horizontal surface & two colour on vertical surfaces, with 40
mm X 12 mm thick teak wood beading all around, as per
drawing. The front of the table top shall be projected as per
drawing. Provision for 3” dia. round / 3” square cable manager
for computer / electrical cables at appropriate place will be
made in the top surface of the table. The wood lipping will be
provided on all the edges of the table, including bottom
touching the floor and the drawers. The table shall have a
keyboard tray of size 600 X 270 of EBCO make fixed on
channels, as per manufacturers instructions / specifications. A
full depth CPU shelf 15” wide shall be provided at left hand
side of counter underneath the working top, at 4” above the
floor level and 3” away (horizontally), from vertical end which
will be made of 19mm thick commercial board laminated with
1.0 mm thick laminate on top and ¾” x ¼” teakwood lipping on
two visible sides. One lockable drawer running on side
mounting drawer slides (channels) of EBCO make & one
cupboard with shutter beneath the drawer made of 19 mm thick
commercial block board with 1.0 mm thick laminate on front
face, handle / knob shall be provided on one side of the table as
per layout. The sides of the drawer shall be made of 12 mm
thick plywood / 19 mm block board, bottom of 6 mm thick
plywood & front of 19 mm thick block board. A full length foot
rest made of hard wood 3” x 1½” section shall be provided at
4” above floor level. Non-laminated surfaces i.e. inside / legspace of table, inside of drawer / cupboard shall be painted
white and teak wood edges / lipping / beading shall be spirit

polished with matching pigment. The work should be complete
as per drawing & satisfaction of the Architect.

Cash Counter's (In two Levels 2'-6" & 4'-0" HT.)
Providing and fixing cash counter 2'-6" wide having working
top at + 2'-6" and 12" wide customer top at + 4'-0".as per
design and drawings. Counters to be made of 19 mm thick
commercial board with 1.0 mm thick laminate on outer visible
surfaces; single color on horizontal surface & two colors on
vertical surfaces, with 40 mm X 12 mm thick teak wood
beading all around, as per drawing. Provision for 3” dia. round /
3” square cable manager for computer / electrical cables at
appropriate place will be made in the top surface of the counter.
Teak wood lipping will be provided on all the remaining edges
of the counter, including bottom touching the floor and the
drawers. The table shall have a keyboard tray of size 600 X 270
of EBCO make fixed on channels, as per manufacturers
instructions / specifications. Customer top has depressed
portion (7" X 13" X 4") lockable from inside for cash transfer.
