Jeffrey Deutsch – jazz, pop and cabaret vocalist
Jeffrey Deutsch is a well-known singer in the Chicago area for over 30 years.
He has sung thousands of gigs for tens of thousands of people and for hundreds
of dollars. He has sung a tribute to Duke Ellington at the Swan Bar in Paris;
entertained at the five-star hotel Kurhaus in Holland; taken requests on the
number one and number two cruise ships in the world, the Crystal Serenity and
the Crystal Symphony; and performed in hotels, restaurants and zoos
throughout the Midwest. He is happy to have worked with Joanie Pallatto on
several occasions, including at the Chicago Cultural Center and in
"Sophisticated Ladies" at Symphony Center. Jeffrey is proud to have received
the title Chicago Jazz Singer of the Year three years in a row, 2015, '16 and '17.

Frank Caruso – pianist
A natural prodigy, Frank Caruso has played piano professionally since he was
12 years old. After studies at DePaul University, he served in the U.S. Navy
Band in Washington D.C. and was a featured performer at the White House
Birthday Party for Duke Ellington. Caruso is currently teaching jazz studies at
North Central College in Naperville, IL and Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, IL.
Over the years, Frank Caruso has performed with Luciano Pavarotti in concert
at the United Center, and with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at Ravinia for
Jazz/Pops concerts. He has played alongside music legends Henry Mancini,
Louie Bellson, Herbie Hancock, Billy Joel, and Maynard Ferguson, to name a
few. He recorded with Randy Brecker for River North Records. His solo album,
Freefall features his own compositions. Other jazz quintet albums include:
Mango Tango and Heart Of The City – both in collaboration with saxophonist
Mark Colby (a Conn-Selmer clinician) and Songs From The Kingdom Of Jazz
with saxophonist Jim Massoth. His latest recording project, Analea is with
legendary bassist Eddie Gomez.

Southport Records Presents… an ongoing series of events at Katerina’s on the
first Saturday of every month! Label partners Bradley Parker-Sparrow, piano
and Joanie Pallatto, voice will open each set with their original duets and
improvisations. Southport Records will present a mix of artists from the label
roster, featuring jazz, avant garde, classical, cabaret, spoken word, world and
new music. The co-host of this event, Katerina’s, has evolved into a unique
listening experience and environment, with fine programming, including jazz,
world, and pop forms.
As always, Katerina’s serves great cocktails and fine food!
