主詞與動詞一致
主詞的形式有前述的七大類 (名詞、代名詞、不定詞、名詞子句、名詞片語、 the + 形
容詞 ) ， 除了名詞和代名詞會依名詞本身的單複數有所改變之外，其餘動名詞、不定詞、
名詞子句、名詞片語，一律視為單數，另 the + 形容詞則依其意或為單數或為複數。但是主
詞後常因下列各情形影響其單複數的變化。
一、 S + 助動詞 + V 原：Unverified news should not be released yet.
二、 S + 連接詞 + V 複： (Both) the consultant and his client are having a lunch special.
三、 A or B/ either A or B/ neither A nor B/ not only A but also B: 連接主詞時，動詞以最近的主
詞為主。

十、 S + , + 同位語 +,： Ms. Bush, our new CEO, is paying a visit to all the branch offices.
