LIST OF SUGGESTIONS/FEEDBACK DURING LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD MEETING, MELBOURNE FEBRUARY 8TH 2008 Question: How would we be informed of titles being transferred in and out of SAGE? Response: Currently SAGE is working to have announcements to all relevant Listservs announcing the list of all 2008 acquisitions. This would be sent in January and then July/August of each year but for this year it would be sent within the next few weeks. This message would direct the reader to the library zone within SAGE’s website. http://www.sagepub.com/librarians/zone/journals/default.sp For your necessary reference I have enclosed the list of titles being transferred in and out plus new titles. Question: How do I know whether access to my database has been activated? Response: We have instituted a procedure where with effect from March 2008 all administrators would be advised of activation of the accounts. For SJO it would be an activation notice received via HighWire Press and for eReference Katherine Goh of SAGE Asia-Pacific (Katherine.goh@sagepub.co.uk) would advise the administrator directly Question: What tools do your users or you need to be trained on using SJO or eReference? Response: We are exploring the idea of running a WebEx course somewhat similar to what Highwire Academy is offering. Users would be able to call in as a group on a scheduled tutorial and someone could run through SJO over the phone. We are also looking into having static presentation (ie with screenshots) for users who prefer to do that. We have asked for some of these WebEx courses to be held during the Asia-Pacific time zones. Marketing collaterals are already available online on our SAGE website http://www.sagepub.com/librarians/zone/journals/default.sp As for eReference online tutorial is already available on our portal www.sage-ereference.com Question: At times I need immediate technical assistance with the e-platform or require an invoice issued immediately? We have raised the issue of a 24/7 Helpdesk which is now being discussed with HighWire. We are also discussing internally to see if customer services can be made available during the Asia-Pacific time zones. We would revert as soon as we have updates. Question: I do not need all titles within SAGE e-reference? Can I pick and choose? Is a purchase or annual subscription model preferred? Response: SAGE is willing to allow selection of titles within a specific subject groups to be purchased by the librarians. We would be raising the issue of allowing an annual subscription model for SAGE ereference to our publisher in the US.
