Accounting As a new hire for Corp Accounting, you will be assigned as the store accountant for one of the Corp's other services (Hoya Snaxa, Uncommon Grounds, Midnight Mug, MUG, Catering, or Vital Vittles). Your tasks will include basic accounting work for the service, with the ability to quickly move up the ranks in dealing with the Corp's financials. You will also work a shift at the Corp service for which you are the store accountant. 1. Universal Pictures just approached you and is interested in making a movie on your life. Who's starring, who's directing, who's your love interest, what's the title, and why? 2. You got 99 problems but a significant other ain't one. What's your biggest problem. 3. Corp Accounting deals with money all the time. What is the best purchase you've ever made and why? Corp Catering As a new hire "Catering Specialist," you will be trained in customer service standards, presentation standards, and troubleshooting tactics. You will put these skills to use in the preparation, delivery, and drop-off of catering orders. Although the nature of a catering service does not allow for 9 guaranteed hours of work per week, Corp Catering offers the unique new hire experience of immediate increased involvement in the store. Catering new hires bypass the entry level position and assume an active role in the managerial side of Corp Catering from day one. You will be trained in the brand, product, price, and promotional strategies and can join either the business development committee or the customer representative program where you will learn and participate in the development of the Corp's newest service. 1. Hoya Snaxa New employees will be hired as Cashier/Stockers and will be given three weekly shifts totaling in 9 hours per week. Job duties include keeping the shelves stocked, cleaning the store and working the register. After a semester employees will be able to become managers and take on more responsibility on their shifts. All employees are also encouraged to apply to the upper management of Snaxa in areas of purchsing. marketing, personnel and operations. Candidates must be excellent with customers, and be looking to join a tight-knit family of Snaxans. 1. If you were a god, what would you do to the world? 2. IT+Marketing – Information Technology As an Information Technology Specialist, you will work on a wide range of development and maintenance projects ranging from innovative web design to database and server management. Current and future projects include a revamped application process, internal employee reporting system, website redesign, and online sales management. Specialists have the opportunity to interact with all other Corp services in addition to contributing to the guidance of The Corp's information systems. IT members work closely with one another and are encouraged to propose and develop projects that match their interests and skills. 1. IT members frequently work independently on projects that push them to be self motivated and highly organized. Please describe an experience in which you have exhibited these skills. 3. IT+Marketing – Marketing As a Creative Consultant in the Corp's Marketing department, you will work on a wide range of projects, which includes designing print ads, crafting marketing strategies for multi-faceted campaigns, and ultimately acting as a brand manager for the Corp. As a new hire, you will be trained to use graphic design programs (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign). Current and future projects include new product launches, product rebranding, and expansions of online marketing as well as social media. New hires will not only collaborate with one another on a variety of projects throughout the semester but also interact with all of the Corp's services and committees. It is encouraged through not required to highlight any previous applicable experience in the marketing/advertising/design fields in your application. 1. Midnight Mug New hires will be trained to work as baristas, cashiers and stockers to fulfill the caffeinerelated needs of the students and faculty in Lauinger Library during three weekly shifts. After completing this initial semester as new hires, employees will be given the opportunity to apply for management positions ranging from purchasing, marketing and operations, to managing other employees on shift. We operate in a fast-paced environment, so applicants must work well under pressure while maintaining a positive demeanor. 1. So, why Midnight Mug? 2. You lost your wallet while visiting Georgetown University and now need to board a plane to get back home. What sob story do you tell the security guard of how you lost your ID the night before to make your flight? 3. What are you passionate about? More Uncommon Grounds New hires to the little cart with the big heart will be trained first as cashiers and stockers, learning how to receive and fill orders from customers as well as keep the store stocked and clean. Later, you will be trained as a barista to make drinks and manage the store. Applicants need not have any prior coffee experience, but should be fast and eager learners. Applicants should be comfortable working in close quarters with other employees (our store is tiny!) and have excellent customer service. 1. Applicants need not have previous coffee experience, but should be ready to learn their new job quickly. Must be comfortable working with others on shift and prepared to be a polite and poised customer servant to the many students, faculty and doctors who frequent our shop. 1. What 5 things would make it onto your 'Georgetown Bucket List'? 2. Director Gartin, fearless leader of UG, recently uncovered a magic lamp in the sand dunes of Connecticut. When she tried to polish it, a magic UGenie, voiced by Robin Williams, sprang from the lamp and offered her three wishes! Her first two wishes have already come true, but Director Gartin needs you to make her final wish… what is your third and final wish? 3. This position enables you to eventually apply for the many management positions in the areas of purchasing, marketing, HR, and operations. Candidates must be excellent customer servants, have good interpersonal skills, and be looking for an enjoyable and rewarding job. 1.
