Accompanies ambulance to any site emergencies

Inserts Intravenous Fluids as ordered

Assists patient in having, maintaining proper alignment of patients body and
utilizing good body mechanics; takes and records vital sign;

Observes signs and symptoms, institutes remedial action when appropriate
and records these in his chart;

Report observations to the physician, carries out doctor’s legal orders;

Assists doctor on any emergency procedures ( suturing, et tube insertion)

Assess patients according to manifestations and report to doctor

Prepares patients for, and assists physician with, diagnostic and therapeutic
procedures;

Assists physician when examining patients;

Perform irrigation, catherization and gives enemas;

Administers and charts medication and patients reaction to medication;

Duties and Responsibilities
We are affiliated in 18 different hospitals under tertiary, secondary and primary,
catering to more than 500 patients daily in all ages. We also conduct school nursing in
more than 20 schools, regular class and under special education.
*Responsible for education and training programs of affiliating nursing students in
general wards, out patient, preoperative, intra operative and postoperative phase
with the use of formal lectures, reporting and return demonstrations.
*Conduct lectures on operative procedures and give clinical review system for
evaluating students care practice and compliances with the clinical pathway using
power point demonstrations and mechanically manipulated equipment.
*Guide nursing students to be able to do the following:
1. Believe and adhere in the advocacy of the hospital specifically with regards
to moral standards, issues and concerns.
2. Demonstrate competence in rendering quality nursing care utilizing the
nursing process and the concepts and principles in primary nursing.
3. Formulate and implement an effective nursing care plan integrating
promotive, preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative aspects of care specific
to assigned patient/s.
4. Familiarize with the drugs commonly used in the ward and in the special
areas with regards to the mechanism of actions, side effects, adverse
reactions, dosages, and nursing considerations.
5. Appreciate and understand different diseases afflicting patients.
6. Develop skills in writing a comprehensive SOAPIE charting for their client.
7. Carry out doctor’s orders and render proper nursing care with less
supervision and with confidence and efficiency.
8. Develop willingness and positive outlook towards taking care of their client.
9. Promotes optimum health status of the client with active participation of
the family and with working in harmonious with the ward staff.
