ADMINISTRATIVE & ORGANIZATIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE
1. Head, Centre of Finance, Islamic Banking, Risk Management and
Economics (FIRE) of the Institute of Business Excellence, (IBE), UiTM.
Established in 2005, the IBE is the research and consultancy arm of the Faculty
of Business, UiTM’s largest faculty. It has been driven by innovative means to
bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practice to keep pace with the
dynamic developments in the business world. This is made possible through
IBE’s close relationship with industry partners and the government agencies.
These collaborations, combined with its strength in training and research
consultancy work creates knowledge that has critical and far reaching impact on
the business society. The Centre strives to enhance networking between the
university and industry by collaborating with government agencies, banks,
universities abroad and other relevant bodies both local and international
especially in the areas of Halal Management and Islamic Finance. Appointed
July 2011-present.
2. Research Fellow, Asian Institute of Finance (AIF). Industry attachment
programme. AIF was a new set up established in 2008 by Bank Negara
Malaysia and Securities Commission to look into the human capital
development in Finance for both Malaysia and Asia. I provided assistance in the
development of guidelines for research activities and the setting up of new
initiatives. The organization of activities and the research I undertook enhanced
my networking and my organizational understanding and the working of the
financial regulatory bodies and institutions. Appointed July 2010-July 2011.
3. Director. WIEF-UiTM International Centre. Appointed as the first
Director of the Centre by the Vice Chancellor of UiTM. The centre was
officially launched by the Prime Minister of Malaysia on 28 May 2007, became
operational in January 2008. The Centre is supported by the World Islamic
Economic Forum (WIEF) Foundation with a focus on education, training and
capacity building for the Muslim world. Appointed 1 June 2009-30 June 2011.
