1A. Read any one of the following books and write its Book Review. Also write about the life and
works of the author of the book :
a) Emma by Jane Austen
b) Wuthering Heights by Charlotte Bronte
c) Ignited Minds by A.P.J Abdul Kalam
1B. Read the novel “The Canterville Ghost” by Oscar Wilde. Write the character sketch of the one
you like the best.
2. Write an article on any topic of your choice in 150 words.
3. Your school organized a workshop, to create awareness among adolescents of the various career
options. Write a short description of the event in not more than 80 words.
4. You are the Principal of a famous school in Delhi. You have come across several news items on
children being under trauma after taking part in reality shows. Bring out the harmful effects of
the glamour and glitter of these reality shows as it is robbing the children off their childhood.
Write a letter to the Editor of a local daily highlighting the harmful effects of reality shows and
the need for awareness among public - not to be carried away by the instant success and the
glamour promised. [word limit-200 words]
5. A reputed college has advertised for the post of two experienced, highly qualified Physics
Lecturers on permanent basis. You are Suhas / Sneha of 52-Wellingdon Road, Mumbai. Write a
job application for this post with complete resume. Invent all the other details.

A) Prepare one investigatory project on the following topics:
1) Roll No. 1 to 5
----- To Test the presence of ionic contamination in different samples of
contaminated water.
2) Roll No. 6 to 10 ----- Study the method of purification of water.
3) Roll No. 11 to 15 ----- To study the hardness of different samples of water.
4) Roll No. 16 to 20 ----- Investigation on the foaming capacity of different washing soaps and
effect of addition of sodium carbonate on them.
5) Roll No. 21 to 25 ----- To study Acidity of different samples of tea leaves.
6) Roll No. 26 to 30 ----- To compare the caffeine content in different samples of tea.
7) Roll No. 31 to 37 ----- To study the effect of acids and bases on tensile strength of fibres.
B) Do all the exercise questions of chapter 1 in fair notebook.
SUBJECT – BIOLOGY
 Do the exercise questions of chapter Morphology of flowering plants and Anatomy of
flowering plants, given at the end of the chapter.
 Study, revise and learn chapter Morphology of flowering plants and Anatomy of flowering
plants.
 Study yourself and try to understand the unit I- Diversity of living organisms.
 Make a model and a chart on any topic from your syllabus.
 Collect different specimen of the plants according to category, dry them and make samples.
