Leveraging of medical and treatment data, the effectiveness of the relationship with network partners and the communications between key stakeholders, such as the physician, employee and adjuster, need to be appraised. Another difficult question is, “When should the employer pay more than the fee schedule?’ 9:15 am “Occupational Disability Guidelines” Phil LeFevre, Senior Account Executive, Work Loss Data Institute, Encinitas, CA Mr. LeFevre will speak of Occupational Disability Guidelines, which place reasonable controls on utilization, while safeguarding access to quality care. The Guidelines do not cut price below market. Companies who use them will attract good doctors, who practice evidence-based medicine. 10:00 am 10:15 am Break “Erosion by RICO of Exclusive Remedy of Workers’ Compensation” Jerry Marcinkoski, Immediate Past Executive Secretary of Michigan Self-Insurers Association Court decisions in recent years, allowing RICO to overcome the exclusive remedy of workers’ compensation, have been encouraging to claimants.
