How is the air at the top of the mountain different from the air at the base of
the mountain? Air pressure will lower at the top of the mountain
Why is the Baltic Sea less salty than other seas? Many rivers flow into the
Baltic Sea. Rivers do not have salt in them.
What happens when moist air rises? The moist air cools, and the water vapor
condenses into clouds.
What is the Sun’s role in the water cycle? Water evaporates quickly because
the sun has heated it up.
Read about stratus clouds……….where are they located? What do they look
like? What kind of weather do they bring? Clouds located close to the ground
that bring rain or snow.
Describe what happens when a cold air mass meets a warm air mass that is
not moving. A cold air mass that meets a warm air mass will create a cold front.
The cold air sinks, and the warm air is pushed upward, which makes it cooler.
The water vapor in the air condenses into clouds.
Describe the water cycle. Look at the packet that you received in class that
describes the 4 steps of the water cycle. Steps in order are evaporation,
condensation, precipitation, and storage.
