IDT Earns ISO 9001:2000 Certification at its
Oligonucleotide Production Headquarters
Internationally Recognized Quality Management Standard Recognizes IDT's Commitment to Ongoing
Improvements in Product Quality & Customer Experience
CORALVILLE, Iowa - (Sept. 06, 2005). Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT), the largest supplier of custom
nucleic acids in the U.S., announces that the production processes for both synthetic oligonucleotides and
consumables at its Coralville, Iowa, headquarters have achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification. Addressing
those processes that most impact product quality -- including manufacturing, design control, process
validation and customer support, ISO 9001:2000 provides a clear, recognized, and highly respected
standard for quality management.
IDT's success in achieving certification reflects the strength of its existing product quality procedures, as
well as its clear commitment to manufacturing excellence and the ongoing development of its quality
management system. It also signifies the continuing commitment of IDT's management to strengthen the
company's ability to identify and meet the needs and evolving expectations of its customers.

IDT began its registration process in February of this year. The standards and requirements associated
with ISO 9001:2000, divided into four main areas - Management Responsibility, Resource Management,
Product/Service Realization, and Measurement, Analysis & Improvement - make it a much sought after
certification, and one that denotes a systematic approach to product quality that customers and partners
find very reassuring.
The International Standards Organization developed standard 9001:2000 for those organizations that not
only have to demonstrate their ability to provide products that meet customer and regulatory
requirements, but also aim to continually enhance customer satisfaction through effective systems
application.
Certification follows a series of audits - carried out in this instance by BSI Management Systems, a
prominent quality management systems registrar - requiring on-site assessments, examinations of IDT's
documented procedures, and an audit of overall operations. System quality and standards are then
monitored through periodic surveillance audits of IDT's processes, by BSI Management Systems.
