Greetings,
I’m writing to you in order to express my interest in a position as an English language instructor.
First and foremost, my primary goal is to provide a friendly environment for students where
education and development of skills is taught at a high standard. By incorporating a wide array of
teaching practices that will cater to a wide range of students in order to maximize their potential.
My most recent work experience was at Interpark Paedea and previous to that with Avalon
English. As an employee of Interpark Paedea, I taught 3rd grade elementary up to middle school. The
focus of Paedea was to foster learning through reading and exposure to English. Prior to Paedea, I taught
with Avalon English, both with the elementary and middle school programs, though focused primarily with
the middle school students. In this respect, I assisted in creating original materials, which Avalon uses as
a selling point to existing and prospective students. Beyond the original curriculum that I helped create, I
also was responsible for primarily teaching TOEFL iBT, TEPS, and NEAT Test Prep. Thus, I have a high
proficiency and understanding of the requirements and the development of skills needed for those tests.
As my resume indicates I have a great deal of experience and education as an English teacher.
Over the course of my work experience, I have learned the importance of creating and maintaining a high
proficiency in oral and written communication and establishing positive relationships with students and coworkers. Working with different age groups, from elementary students to adults, has given me a wide
range skills and a level of confidence in any situation. I also believe that with my abilities and educational
background that I would be a benefit to the position, to the students, and to your school.
My education background includes a Bachelor of Art in Social Sciences as well as a TESOL
Certificate from Trinity Western University. The work experience I have includes a background in
customer service, specifically the tourist and food industry as well as experience as an intern for a mental
health clinic, this coupled with my experience as being an experienced ESL teacher. Other relevant
experience I possess includes a background in editing and writing for my schools bi-weekly publication
and leading and teaching a group of 1st year students during my time in university. These experiences
have given me insight into the expectations customers and students have and an ability to understand
how to provide quality service. My teaching experience has provided me with the necessary skills to be a
dynamic and effective teacher in the classroom and office setting. With this background I am able to
provide quality education as well as having a deep understanding of what a customer may require; all of
which I have applied to my previous and current jobs.
Aside from my work and education experience, I possess a number of important qualities
necessary for working in a school of higher education: I am adept at building strong interpersonal
relationships, have excellent written communication, am hard working and have a strong ability to multitask while also following through on deadlines.
I am very eager and excited at the prospect of what this position entails and the work of ensuring
an excellent quality of life and education to those around me. I would appreciate the opportunity to
