The measurement of the performance of business and other organizations has long been of central interest to both managers and management accounting researchers.
However, management accounting has tended to restrict itself to considering only financial performance, and to use frameworks and theories drawn primarily from the discipline of economics. Even the attention that has been paid to the so-called ‘behavioral aspects’ of management accounting has been incorporated into the economic approach through the development of agency theory.
However, the use of management accounting and control systems can be fruitfully analyzed from the framework of performance measurement and performance management.
In this context, we have the pleasure to inform you that ICMA Pakistan is holding an
International Conference on “Management Accounting and Value Creation” on April
06, 2013 at Pearl-Continental Hotel, Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam, Lahore, Pakistan. A large number of foreign delegates from SAFA member bodies and from across the world are expected to participate in the event.
It will be a memorable and one of its kind occasions for all the Cost and Management
Accounting (CMA) Institutes’ where East will be meeting West. A large number of members from CMA bodies will be taking part in this event, as speakers and participants. Presenters of international repute will be touching upon latest trends and techniques of Management Accountancy around the world.
The event will also be attended by representatives of the diplomatic missions, dignitaries of Government, Semi-Government and Public Sector Organizations, key members of the Trade and Industries community, representatives of Bank, Insurance, pharmaceutical, power and other financial institutions. Presenters of international repute will be touching upon latest trends and techniques such as Managerial
Innovation, Governmental Role of Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Internal Control
Systems, Management Accounting for Implementing the Organizational Strategy,
Management Accounting for Sustainability and Performance Evaluation through
Balanced Scorecard.
