The main character is Celie. Celie is an African American girl who is raped by her father.
From  this she had two children a boy and a girl, who her father sold. Celie faces multiple  problems. One of the main problems she faces is that her husband beats her up just because.
“Harpo ast his daddy why he beat me. Mr. ____ say, Cause she my wife.” She really can’t do  about this until she finally decides to leave him and start over.
What themes do you see in this story?
One of the main themes in this story is sister love. Celie and Nettie were always together,  but unfortunately Celie got married and her dad and husband tried to rape Nettie. This caused
Nettie to run away. They were separated for years and years but their love for each other never  faded. After all these years Celie finds letters from Nettie that her husband hid from her. Not even  that separated them. “Thank you for bringing my sister Nettie and our children home.”
