Meiden Group received an order for Replacement/Upgrading of Traction Power Supply Facilities in Malaysia Tokyo. – June 29, 2015 - Meidensha Corporation (“Meiden”) today announced its subsidiary in Malaysia, Meiden Malaysia Sdn Bhd. (“MMSB”) has received an order from Prasarana Malaysia Sdn Bhd. (“Prasarana”) for the replacement and upgrading of traction power supply facilities for the Kelana Jaya Line in Malaysia. The contract comprises design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of traction power supply systems of 7 substations. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2016. The Kelana Jaya Line is composed of 24 stations along a 29km line from the north-east area to the south-west area of Kuala Lumpur via the city centre. It has started commercial operation since year 1998 and stations were gradually put into service. MMSB has provided traction power supply equipment for 15 substations of the line. Due to increased demand and aging equipment, Prasarana has decided to replace and upgrade the existing equipment in 7 substations. MMSB has strengthened their sales offering and engineering services, and put forward a proposal for the maintenance of existing facilities to the end-users/customers. Prasarana valued not only MMSB’s engineering skills and quality of products, but also the ability to complete the replacement/upgrading work within a short period of time, which include supplying the new equipment.
