Here is the newsletter for March, 2015. We have included the
reports of events in various cities of Pakistan as well as editorial
and articles on current issues. There is a new video included this
month while you can view last months videos too.

Education as a commodity
Education is a human right like food, healthcare, shelter and many
other necessities of life. It is state's responsibly to provide
educational opportunities to all who seek them. However under
capitalism it has been converted into a commodity to be bought
and sold leading to drastic changes in how knowledge is imparted
and acquired.
Knowledge is now equated with acquiring degrees or skills leading
to better employment opportunities and making most amount of
money possible. Those who are responsible for imparting
knowledge have made it into a profitable business. And those who
seek knowledge do so primarily to improve their chances of better
employment and placement in the job market. Rather than using it
to enhance one's natural abilities, satisfaction of intellectual
capabilities, and improving human society as a whole, it is used to
make money even at the expense of others. Read more...

A press conference was held by International Youth and Workers

Press Conference By Jawad Ahmad about
Baldia factory
Movement (IYWM) and its sister organization, Pakistan National
Trade union Federation (PNTUF) on March 1st, 2015, to address
the Baldia Factory fire in September 2012. It was attended by Mr.
Jawad Ahmad, founding member of IYWM, Umer Baloch, member
central committee IYWM, Tariq Shahzad, National Organizer IYWM
and Muhammad Yousaf, Organizer IYWM, Karachi along with
hundreds of IYWM members, trade unions activists and families of
Baldia Factory faire victims.
Mr. Jawad Ahmad said, "My organization, IYWM, in collaboration
with other workers organization made a music video, "Sun Lo Ke
Hum Mazdoor HaiN", to commemorate the Baldia Factory fire, in
which hundreds of workers died and were burned alive. We met
with the families of the victims who also participated in the video.
The goal was to raise awareness about such horrible incidences
which have become a routine in Pakistan. We also held many
events in various cities to raise our voice and demand that the
current laws about the safety and security of workers should be
effectively implemented.

'EQUALITY THEATER' Team Selection Meeting
March 11th, 2015 Lahore.
More than 50 short listed students from Beacon house National
University, University of Central Punjab, Superior University, M.A.O
College, University of Punjab, University of South Asia, University
of Lahore and Lahore College for Women University attended the
final team session.
Rao Riaz, chaired and started the meeting with a welcome note,
while Tariq Shahzad gave a brief introduction of IYWM and
Equality Theater.
All of participants agreed with the Vision and mission of IYWM and
the purpose of Equality Theater's formation and joined
IYWM. Furthermore, it was decided that the script launching
ceremony will be held on International Theater day 27th March.
and 'Equality Theater's' first play ' SAMAAJ KO BADAL DAALO' will
be staged on April 30th, 2015.

GC University Faisalabad unit formation Meeting
March 20th, 2015.
Government College University, Faisalabad's first meeting was
held on 20th March, 2015. Khalid Bhatti, gave a brief
introduction of IYWM vision, mission and goals.
23 new members attended this meeting and participated in
question & answer session enthusiastically.
Tariq Shahzad talked about the organizational structure and the
role of students/youth to organize workers and peasants.
At the end of the meeting 'Government College University',
Faisalabad's Unit office bearers were elected;
