The meeting started at 8:00AM with a prayer led by Br. Narciso Erguiza, Jr. FSC. 2. The minutes of February 16, 2015 President’s Operations Council meeting will be presented for approval on March 16. 3. Business arising from the minutes of the previous meeting: a. Office of the University President - A reminder about the new building inauguration and the Board of Trustees meeting on March 03. 4. New Business a. Office of the University President i. Advancement & Development - Attendance of Mrs. Ajoc to the Advancement and Fundraising Diploma Course (4 th module) on February 16-18. - Coordination with SSC for the pictorial of the TED graduating students. - On-going meetings with fundraising consultants/volunteers to identify possible donors and preparation of proposals. - Sent out letters to possible benefactors and donors. ii. Information Technology Center - Upgrade of bandwidth with PLDT from 14mbps to 20mbps as of Friday, February 27. The additional 20mbps to be provided by Philcom is still being coordinated. iii. Business and Finance - In coordination with the Registrar’s Office, submitted the TOFI papers to CHED and DEPED on February 27. - Prepared the financial reports particularly the SY 2015-2016 proposed budget for the Board Meeting on March 3. iv. Communications Office - Replacement of Ms. Sebastian as communications officer has started to work at the OP on a part-time schedule. Expected full-time reporting is within a month. v. Others - Submission to CHED the intent to shift to trimestral calendar. Other documentary requirements are being prepared and collated for submission. - Sent out the invitation letters to identified Board of Advisers for the BED and TED curricular programs. b. Office of the University Chancellor i. Admissions Office - Delivery (today) of the 1st batch of the DLSAU desk calendar. - Processed the application of 27 students that took the February 21 entrance exam. March 2 is another testing day. ii. Registrar’s Office - On-going renovation (last phase) of the records area. - Facilitated the downpayment (50%) for the use of the AFP Theater for the TED graduation. c. Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academics and Research i. Student Development - CED Practice Teaching students (Public Schools) were scheduled to have their preteaching demonstration last February 2-13 and final teaching demonstration last March 2-13, 2015. Mr. Patrick Cipriano won 2nd Place Level 1 Practical Accounting 1 and Theory of Accounts at the Ledesma Cup last February 5, 2015 at St. Scholastica’s College, Manila. - NSTP students attended “A Valentine with the Lord: Oneness in Faith through Songs and Service” at the Golden Pavilion last February 13, 2015. - 5th year Accountancy students had their Curriculum integrated review classes during weekdays for the Second Semester AY2014-15. - Knowledge Enhancement Program of CED 4th year students resumed last February 14 for major courses. - Tourism Management Events Management class under Mr. Ronald Ibarlin (CB) organized the “DLSAU Student Research and Poster Competition” held last February 26 – March 6, 2015. - A seminar on Personality Development for CED students was held last February 27 at Osmeña Hall. - Dance festivals will be conducted on March 6-7, 2015 as culminating activity of the College Physical Education Unit. ii. Faculty Development Dr.Querobin S. Dycoco (CVMAS) attended the Annual Philippine Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA) Convention and Scientific conference in Cebu last February 18-20, 2015. - Mr. Solomon Unho King (CVMAS) was invited as a resource speaker at University of Sto. Tomas last February 4, 2015 with his presentation entitled: Trends in Food Science and Technology – Molecular Gastronomy: Cooking and Eating with Science. Mr. Solomon Unho King (CVMAS) is finishing his graduate studies (MS Food Science) and expected to graduate this April 2015 at Philippine Womens University, Manila. Mrs. Janine Maniego (CVMAS) is finishing her graduate studies (MA Education) this April 2015 semester at De La Salle Araneta University. Ms. Adoracion Benedicto (CVMAS) and Mrs. Janine Maniego (CVMAS) conducted a Fish drying and bagoong processing workshop in Tacloban, Leyte as part of the outreach program of DLSP last February 27-March 2, 2015. Mr. Ferdinand Romero (CB) and Mr. Scott Tibayan (CB) attended a Research Seminar last February 7, 2015 at De La Salle University – Manila. - - iii. - - - - - iv. - v. - - Ms. Andrea Pangan (CB) was conferred as Professional Member for Business Administration by the Philippine Council of Deans and Educators for Business (PCDEB) last February 20, 2015. Mr. Scott Tibayan (CB) was conferred as Fellow by the Philippine Council of Deans and Educators for Business last February 20, 2015. Mr. Glen De Leon (CB), Ms. Maria Teresa Bernabe (CB) and Dr. Nelson Layague (CB) attended the ASEAN 2015 Integration and Annual Assembly of PCDEB last February 19-20, 2015 at the Hotel Jen, Manila. Ms. Andrea Pangan attended the LATHE meeting and 5th LATHE Convention last February 23, 2015. Research Ms. Emily Comedis (CAST) presented her research paper entitled “Use of Art in Promotion of Culture of Peace: Symbolic Interaction with Indigenous Cultural Processes Through Photography” at the 8th DLSU Arts Congress, Light of the World Formation and Retreat Center, last February 6-7,2015. Ms. Emily Comedis (CAST) presented her research paper entitled “Self-Help Organizations for Persons with Disabilities in the Philippines: Empowering Persons with Disabilities towards Social Development” at the 2 ND International Forum on Innovative Collaborative -Learning (FICL) in Higher Education 2015 last February 2728, 2015, at St. Paul University Manila. Mr. Cyril Belvis (CAST) presented his research paper entitled “Materials Assessment of a Philippine Literature Textbook For Action: A case for Critical Literacy Paradigm” at the 1ST National Congress on Action Research in Education last February 27-28, 2015 at College of Education, DLSU. Ms. Shiela Cabidog (CAST) presented her research paper entitled “Ethical Practices of Filipino On line Journalist” at the 2ND International Forum on Innovative Collaborative -Learning (FICL) in Higher Education 2015 last February 27-28, 2015, at St. Paul University Manila. The research papers of Mr. Leonard Lumaque, 3rd year BSTM student, (Navotas City: Sharing Fish Culture) and Ms. Natazhia Grace Gliane, 3rd year BSTM student, (Pancit Malabon: Malabon Heritage) were considered for presentation at the DLSU Research Congress 2015 (March 3). Parents-Alumni Linkages Dr. Erik Tesoro, an alumnus working in the USA has sent a shipment of a second hand automatic blood analyzer. Awaiting for notice of shipment. Dr. Michael J. Joyner, former student of DLSAU visited and donated Vet. Books, journals and magazines. Dr. Cesar Tumbaga, an alumnus veterinarian working in Canada, came for a visit and donated specimen slides that can be used as instructional materials in Pathology classes. Others The Third course of the executive program (Educational Leadership and Management: Theory and Practice) was handled by Dr. Nenita Habulan last January 25, February 1, 8, and 15, 2015. The Fourth course of the executive program (Educational Statistics)was scheduled on February 22, March 1, 8, and 15, 2015. d. Office of the Vice Chancellor for Students and Mission i. Lasallian Mission - Mr. Angeles, Ms. Benedicto, Mrs. Maniego with Mr. Vincent Belsa (BSFT student) attended the livelihood program for DLSP One La Salle Rehabilitation Program last February 27 – March 2 in Tacloban City ii. Guidance Services - On-going year faculty evaluation - On-going administration of CGEAT iii. Basic Education - The BED principal DLSP-BEC Principals’ Planning Workshop last February 26 to 28 at La Salle University-Ozamiz - Rotary club donated 1 LCD projector, turnover is on March 06. - Grade 6 pupils is scheduled to have their final exams this week, while grade 10 students final exams will be next week. - NAT for grade 6 is scheduled on March 12 - Confirmation of grade 6 pupils will be on March 13 - It is suggested that all schedule of activities be put in summary in the Institutional calendar. iv. Student Services - In preparation for the SSC election, Dr. Pasion will coordinate with the former student who developed the automated election - Back-to-back stage plays are on-going - Recognition for the top 5 student leaders will be on March 12 - BSTM class of Ms. Roaring was given an orientation by Ms. Dungo for their coming learning engagement activity (field trip) in Ilocos Sur on March 3-5. e. Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administration I. Physical Facilities - Received the donation of two (2) projectors (used) from Pixeltone. For possible installation at the LSB. - Inauguration of the VetMed School Building tomorrow, March 3 (9:30 AM). ii. Human Resource Management & Development - On-going preparation for the March 5-6 annual physical examination. - On-going submission of LOI’s (letter of intent). Deadline of submission is on March 6. iii. Safety & Security - Coordination with provider for additional CCTV cameras in the University. - Received P45,000 donation from Commander Security Services for Scholarship Endowment Fund. - Continuing coordination with LGU’s (Caloocan, Quezon City) on the traffic situation at West Service Road and Camachile. iv. Lasallian Language Center - Arrival and welcome ceremony (March 2) of new students. v. Concessionaires - Coordinating the donations of the bookstore and photo services provider to the University.
