Transfer Admissions Agreement

And
INTI University, Malaysia
I.
PURPOSE
This transfer admissions agreement between West Virginia University and INTI
University, Malaysia is designed to improve the coordination between WVU and INTI of
transfer policies, acceptance of equivalent courses and to enable enhanced advising at both
institutions.
II.
ELEMENTS OF THE AGREEMENT
1. WVU accepts applications from students who wish to transfer directly from INTI to
WVU to pursue a bachelor’s degree. Guaranteed admission to WVU is provided for
students who earn a minimum 24 transferrable credit hours from INTI with a
cumulative GPA of 2.0 and a minimum TOEFL score of 500 (paper based), IBT
TOEFL 60 and IELTS 6.0. Admission to certain bachelor programs may have
further requirements, such as a higher gpa, and/or a SAT or ACT score (e.g. all
engineering programs).
2. For the purpose of admissions and credit recognition the transfer GPA is
determined by a calculation that includes all INTI course attempts, as well as, all
course attempts at regionally accredited institutions.
III.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TRANSFER ADMISSION APPLICANTS
Transfer admission applicants must:
1. Submit a Transfer application by either the July 1st deadline for fall admission or
the November 1st deadline for spring admission.
2. Complete 24 transferrable credits hours at INTI.
3. Achieve at least a cumulative GPA of 2.0. Cumulative GPA is determined by a
calculation that includes all INTI course and all attempts, as well as all course
attempts at previous institutions.
IV.
ACCEPTANCE AND APPLICATION OF CREDITS
1. If course equivalencies exist for required courses, general education curriculum,
and/or prerequisites, these course will apply towards WVU’s graduation
requirements. Course equivalencies will be determined consistently with transfer
criteria at WVU.
2. Only courses taken at INTI are covered by this agreement.
V.
UPDATE/REPORT/RELATIONSHIP
WVU and INTI agree to review this agreement and relevant transfer course equivalencies
annually. Each institution will designate an individual to serve as a liaison for the purpose
on monitoring this agreement. Additionally, WVU and INTI agree to share student data
for the purpose of assessment, recruitment and reporting.
VI.
AMENDMENTS AND TERM OF EFFECT
1. All course by course transfer guides and transfer credit equivalency systems may be
amended as needed.
2. This agreement will go into effect as of the date of its signing. Either institution may
terminate this agreement at any time by written notice at least one year in advance
of the effective date of termination. Should this agreement be terminated, it is
understood that all INTI students who have been accepted to WVU as part of the
agreement will be provided all of the benefits as stated.
