What is eBay?
 Began in 1995 in San Jose, California, when a computer





programmer auctioned a “broken laser pointer” for $14.93
via the Internet
In 1998 eBay had 0.5 million users, 30 employees and
$4.7 Million in revenue
In 2007 eBay had 83 million users, 15,000 employees
and $8 Billion in revenue
In 2011 eBay had 115 million users, $69 Billion in
transactions and $12 Billion in annual revenue
As of January 2014, eBay's market value was roughly $69
Billion.
eBay originally focused being a standard auction house
over the Internet. Today it is much more.
