Fees
Included in the Fees
Tuition
The number of lessons depends on the selected programme and year of study
(please refer to the programme for details). Reductions are offered for early payment.
Swiss students and permanent residents of Switzerland are eligible for a reduced fee
structure. For more information, please contact the admissions office.
Accommodation
Accommodation in a double standard room is included in the fees. Rooms with
added extras are available for an additional charge (please refer to student life
section for details). Rooms are cleaned once per week by the housekeeping
department. Bed linen and towels are provided. All rooms are non-smoking.
Meals
All meals are included 7 days/week: breakfast, lunch and dinner from Monday to
Friday, brunch and dinner on weekends. You can choose to eat at any of the food
outlets on campus.
Special Diet
> For vegetarians, a special main course is available.
> For students who cannot eat pork or beef due to religious reasons, other choices
will be available.

Arrival in Switzerland
Enrolment Fees
The following documents are included in the enrolment fees for each successful
applicant:
> Provisional Letter of Acceptance
Sent to you after approval of your application
> Letter of Acceptance
After reception of your registration fee of CHF 3,000.– (CHF 3,290.–, including
cancellation insurance) you will be sent a letter of acceptance, which should be
used to begin your visa application.
Welcome Desk at the Airport
During the arrival weekend, a Swiss Education Group welcome desk operates at
Geneva airport (Friday noon until Sunday night 6 p.m.) to provide you with any help
you may require on arrival in Switzerland. If you have booked an airport transfer to
the school, staff members at the welcome desk will guide you to the car/coach.
Induction Weekend
Upon your arrival an orientation programme is organised to give you an introduction
to the courses and lifestyle at school. Your uniform, class schedule and books will
also be distributed during this time.
Residence Permit
The school will apply for your residence permit as soon as you arrive in Switzerland.
Swiss Residency Taxes
All foreign nationals staying in Switzerland for more than one week must pay a daily
tax to the local authorities.
Swiss VAT Taxes
VAT (Value Added Tax) is included in the fees.

Student Card
The international student card shows your student status and offers discounts in a
number of shops, cinemas and for a variety of other activities.
Academics
IPad
All students receive an iPad on arrival, which they will use throughout their studies
and is theirs to keep after graduation. The Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland is
committed to using the latest technologies to aid students in their studies.
Teaching Material
Specifically chosen for their content, excellent, modern books are included in the
additional charges. All other required teaching materials are also included.
Access to Academic Guidance and Study Support
The programme leader/manager and academic dean guide students through the
term and are available to assist with any academic problems that you may have.
Study Advisor
The study advisor scheme provides students with assistance and guidance in their
academic studies by offering additional support in a variety of subjects.
Library Access
The school has its own modern library providing access to a large collection of books
and research materials. Students also have access to a wide range of online
catalogues and articles. An experienced librarian is available to offer assistance.
Wireless Internet Connection
Wireless Internet is available throughout the school. You will receive the password
from the IT department upon arrival.
Graduation and Official Certificate
You will have the opportunity to participate in the official graduation ceremony. For
this event, you will be given a graduation gown, scarf and hat. Certificates will be
issued to graduates in the term following their formal graduation after all financial
obligations have been met.
Insurance and Social Assistance
Health Insurance (during academic term)
By law, it is compulsory for any resident in Switzerland, except European Community
students, to be insured with a Swiss-based health insurance company. The school
provides its students with health care coverage (including the daily cost of
hospitalisation in a shared room) and for corporal accident both on and off school
premises in Switzerland and abroad. Dental care is not included in the coverage.
Student Counsellor
The student counsellor is available for any personal or medical assistance required. If
necessary, they will arrange medical assistance.
World Private Civil Liability Plan
Included with the health coverage each student also benefits from a private civil
liability plan valid worldwide. This covers for personal injury or material damages to a
third party for up to CHF 3 million.
Internship and Career Services
Internship
You will be guided through every aspect of the employment process, from developing
your curriculum vitae and cover letter, to practicing interview skills and learning how
to best present yourself. The internship office works diligently to place students in a
variety of establishments; in some of the best restaurants and four and five-star
hotels in Switzerland or abroad.
Internship Preparation and Report
The internship office monitors all internships and provides assistance as required.
Participation in the International Recruitment Forum
Twice a year, students are given the opportunity to meet with hospitality industry
leaders from around the world at the International Recruitment Forum organised by
the Swiss Education Group.
Career Guidance
The Career Services team will meet with you to discuss your career aspirations.
Taking into consideration your academic strengths and previous work experience,
the coordinator will offer you career advice and guidance giving you access to the
best possible opportunities within the hospitality industry.
Leisure
Use of Campus Recreational Facilities
The Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland offers excellent leisure facilities with areas
for you to meet fellow students and relax. All campuses have a range of different
facilities for students to use free of charge.
Sightseeing or Professional Excursion
In addition to the theoretical and practical classes, excursions to restaurants,
wineries, food-manufacturing facilities, trade fairs and gastronomic events are
organised. Sightseeing visits can take you to places such as Switzerland’s capital city
Bern or to the Olympic Museum in Lausanne.
After Graduation and Alumni Services
Swiss Education Group Alumni Network Membership
After graduation you will automatically receive membership to the alumni network of
the Swiss Education Group with over 20,000 graduates from 80 different countries.
Regular alumni reunions are organised around the world, providing a fantastic
opportunity to meet fellow graduates and network.
Alumni Services
You will receive access to the alumni website ʻKonnect’ that is a simple-to-use
platform offering up-to-date industry news, an upcoming event calendar, job
opportunities and much more. You can also attend the International Recruitment
Forum.

Rooms offering additional extras are subject to availability.
The school cannot guarantee that all requests can be met in full. Preference for room
allocation is made for applicants on a first paid, first served basis. Accommodation
may be allocated in different facilities subject to availability.

Parking spaces are limited and should be requested in advance.

Refundable Deposit
A refundable deposit of CHF 1,500.‒ is required by all applicants. This deposit will be
refunded after completion of the full course, provided that none of the school property
has been damaged/misplaced by students. The monthly health insurance premiums
during internships will be deducted from the refundable deposit (CHF 130.‒ per
month).
