College of Nursing-Fort Lauderdale Lisa B. Soontupe, EdD, RN Dr. Lisa Soontupe earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, Master of Arts degree in Nursing Education from New York University, and Doctor of Education degree in Higher Education Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Her work experience includes various areas of medical and surgical nursing as well as nurse researcher positions. She served as a Clinical Educator in nephrology nursing; a position which included staff development and clinical education as well as direct patient care. Dr. Soontupe’s teaching experience includes 20 years in higher education at both the baccalaureate and associate degree levels. She has held positions of full-time faculty, department chair, and honors director. Dr. Soontupe’s dissertation research involved the effectiveness of admission interviews in an entry-level nursing program. Dr. Soontupe joined the faculty of Nova Southeastern University in 2004 as an Associate Professor in the College of Nursing. She has taught all levels of adult health nursing, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and nursing practicum. In addition, she works with graduate students in the nurse educator track and serves on doctoral dissertation committees. Dr. Soontupe was appointed as Director of Clinical Services in 2011 for the Entry-Level Nursing Program-Fort Lauderdale Campus.
