JAM’s Industry View
“The survey reveals that while the UK may be lagging a little behind other markets in terms of
pay, Global Mobility workers here do prosper from a high level of benefits - with pensions and
private medical care particularly common. This may reflect the fact that in the climate of
economic austerity employers are increasingly switched-on to other methods of attracting
and keeping the best talent.
“Salaries are much higher for in-house roles than service providers with the oil and gas
industry the most lucrative sector overall for Global Mobility specialists. It won’t come as a
great surprise to anyone that Switzerland tops the list as the highest paying country but that
also reflects the high cost of living there compared with other European regions.
“Overall for a Global Mobility professional willing to travel to enjoy a higher salary it would
seem that starting your career in the USA, taking a mid-level job in Switzerland and peaking
in Singapore would be the most lucrative international career path.”
