Build a pyramid.
How many blocks do you need for a 12 block high pyramid? How big is the base?
Make the corner pieces a different color block.
Make the top block out of gold, like the Egyptians did.
Did you know that the pyramids were all smooth when they were finished? The Egyptians fit in limestone
smooth pieces to fit over the base pyramids. Over the centuries, the people that lived in the nearest town, Giza,
stole the limestone to build their houses and businesses. Now, all the limestone is gone, but you can see it in the
town. It’s illegal to climb up the pyramids, but people do it with the help of local guides. What is the view like
from the top of your pyramid?

Make a Mayan pyramid.
This is an advanced project. It will be a little trickier to create in Minecraft. Look carefully at the “steps” in a
Mayan pyramid vs. an Egyptian one. How could you mimic that with Minecraft blocks?

Create an Obelisk.
The Obelisk was one of a pair in Luxor, Egypt. It was a gift from the Viceroy of Egypt to King Louis-Philippe of
France in 1832, and is also referred to as Cleopatra's needle. It was taken from Egypt and shipped with great
difficulty to France. The gold pyramidion (the gold block on top) was recreated by the French, the original was
probably stolen in the 6th century BC.
The obelisk, a yellow granite column, rises 75 ft high, including the base. It is decorated with hieroglyphs exalting
the reign of the king Ramses II.
Create your own obelisk with a gold cap.

Build a Greek Temple.
Greek temples usually have a throne or statue inside, and pillars holding up a slanted roof along the outside.

Each team member, build a model of your own house and make a
neighborhood with your teammates.
Try to include all the rooms, windows, and doors in your house.

Build a bridge.
Build a bridge between two hills and a bridge over water. Here are some famous bridges for you to think about
as you build your bridge.

Build a copy of your teammate’s building.
While you are both building, watch your teammate to modify your house to be a copy. Meanwhile, your
teammate is copying your house, too. This may turn into a building frenzy! Can you keep up?

Build mirror copies of the same building.
This requires careful attention to detail and flexible thinking.

Build Spiritridge School. (Advanced)
You know the school like the back of your hand. Can you build it with your team? Try breaking it up into zones –
Classrooms, Library, Staff Areas, MPR, etc.

Make a floating island.
For extra excitement, add some eternal springs on your floating island to make it into a giant fountain.

Build a castle.

Build a circular room or a dome.
You don’t need to make something this spectacular. Here are some sample circles to help you plan a circle with
bocks.

Build a statue of your Minecraft Avatar.
Make it at least 30 blocks high.

Build a maze or labyrinth with your team.
Try starting together in one room, and have each person go in a different direction.
Can you run the maze quickly? What about if another player floats above the maze and tells you which way to
turn? Challenge another 2-person team to see who can go faster.

Find and fix a NPC Village.
Work with other miners to find and regenerate an NPC village.
Ensure that you replant the gardens, fix the ponds, repair the buildings, etc.

Be inspired by a “Famous Building” display.
Find a Famous Building display that you especially like. Try to recreate it in Minecraft.

block high column in the middle of the bowl. just put water on top to finish it off!
