You are cordially invited to the TORONTO OPEN™ 2013 TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIPS, at the
Variety Village Athletic Centre at 3701 Danforth Avenue, Toronto, Ontario on November 16th &
17th, 2013 .
Thank you for your continued support of this tournament. Our aim was to give all developing
participants an opportunity to compete and meet with many other TKD practitioners. The
Toronto Open has always been the event to celebrate and showcase Taekwondo for athletes
of all abilities.
Last year’s event attracted World Class Athletes, Coaches and Referees! Many of our
domestic players were tested, inspired, and realize their own potential. The quality of the
competitors and teams continually define the credibility of this long running event.
Kindly read the attached tournament package carefully for all details regarding registration
deadlines, tournament rules, terms and conditions of participation, competition schedule,
weigh-in times, and contest procedures.
Please note that Daedo ® Sensor Socks are required for Day 2 competition.
Medical Support Team will be on site to treat injuries. Taping services will be offered at a cost
of $5.00/taping.

Thank you for your interest in the 2013 Toronto Open. As a requirement for event registration, I agree
to the following terms and conditions:
1. I declare that I am over the age of 18 years old or I am a parent/guardian of a participant
under the age of 18 years old.
2. I understand as a condition of event participation as a coach or athlete, I must be a current
member of the Ontario Taekwondo Association for the 2013-2014 Season.
3. I understand as a condition of event participation for non residents of ONTARIO I must purchase
a 1 day OTA Membership for $20 OR provide proof of my insurance information to the event
organizers as a condition of participation. Athletes must provide COPY of their own insurance or
purchase 1-day insurance membership. Please attach proof of insurance OR submit payment
with “OTA Fee” selected on Registration Forms
4. I am fully aware of the risks involved and the degree of fitness required in taking part in this
event. I accept that the event organizers and their agents cannot be held responsible for any
injury or loss, however caused.
5. I agree to allow Toronto Open Taekwondo Championships and their agents to capture myself
on still image or film for the purposes of promoting the 2013 Toronto Open.
6. I understand that the categories in the Colour Belt & Recreational Black belt divisions are
scheduled to compete on Saturday, November 16, 2013 and are grouped under discretion of
the Tournament Director and OTA Officials.
7. I understand that the categories for Junior & Senior Black Belt Sparring on Sunday November 17,
2013 will be adopting Olympic Weight Categories.
8. I understand that the categories for CADET Black Belt Sparring on Sunday, November 17, 2013
will be categorized after completion of the weigh ins by Saturday November 16 and will be
adopting modified Jr. Safety rules regarding head contact.
9. I understand that all fees are non-refundable.

MANDATORY EQUIPMENT
 Day 1-All Colour and Recreational Black Belt Kyorugi athletes must provide their own white WTF
style uniform, helmet, shin guards, arm guards, instep protection, groin protector (worn inside of
uniform), chest protectors, mouth guard. Equipment will be on sale, on site.
 Day 2-Cadet, Junior & Senior athletes must provide their own white WTF style
uniform/equipment. Red & Blue Helmets, shin guards, arm guards, Daedo® sensor socks, groin
protector (worn inside of uniform), hand protectors and white or transparent mouth guard.
Equipment will be on sale, on site.
 Please note that Daedo® Sensor Socks are required for Day 2. Canadian Forces Nationals,
Cadet, Junior & Senior. These can be ordered by calling Chantal toll free 1-888-618-6377. Order
early as delivery time can be 4-6 weeks.
