Define Respiration

Task 2 – (1 hour 30 mins)
In this task you are going to find out about anaerobic respiration and its uses in fermentation for making
food.
For this task you need to design a poster showing how anaerobic respiration in microorganisms is used by
humans.
Points to include1 – Word equation for anaerobic respiration of yeast
2 – Definition for fermentation
3 – Pictures and explanation of what is involved in the production of at least 2 foods
4 – The microorganisms involved are described in terms of how it makes the food
Examples you could use are bread, yoghurt, beer, wine (these are suggestions, you can also find
your own example of fermentation)
