CONDITIONAL ADMISSION CSULB offers conditional admission to students who apply and meet the academic qualifications for admission but do not have the required English language proficiency. Successful completion of Level 4 of the Intensive English Program (IEP) fulfills the English language requirement for CSULB undergraduate programs. Successful completion of Level 6 of the IEP program fulfills the English language requirements for most CSULB graduate programs. An I-20 form is required to apply for the visa and will be mailed in your acceptance packet from the American Language Institute. After receiving your I-20 form, students will need to pay a SEVIS fee, and schedule an F-1 Student Visa interview with the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in their home country. GALLERY MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the American Language Institute (ALI) is to provide quality English as a Second Language instruction that meets the high educational standards of its affiliate campus, California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). As a unit within College of Continuing and Professional Education, the selfsupport division on campus, the American Language Institute responds to the needs of a variety of audiences. As such, the American Language Institute includes long-term and short-term programs, credit and non-credit courses, as well as support services and activities appropriate for its different clients. A large part of the efforts within the institute focuses on the Intensive English Program (IEP), which offers academic and practical ESL instruction to a postsecondary audience.
