I have been living here with my joint family since I was born and my grandparents have been living here for the last 50 years. The entire colony feels like an extended family to me. All in all, the colony is very close-knit. My attachment with the area cannot be expressed in words. Krishna Nagar is like a mini Delhi. There is a lot on offer, starting with the best part, the commercial market. Lal Quarter is where everything one dreams of is available, from highend brands to throw away shops, from traditional sweet shops to famous restaurants, we have got it all. Not only this, so many other good things are there in this market. We have a big public park in the vicinity, which caters to the need of everyone. Within the park, there is a reserved area for the fitness conscious. Here you’ll find people of all ages indulging in yoga and other exercises. The park also sustains badminton courts and play area for tiny tots. I love walking barefoot on the freshly mown grass. The locality is well connected, with Delhi Metro catering to the transportation needs of the people. Even the journey to the Metro station is an easy affair with feeder buses and fatfat seva autos readily available. The nearby stations are Welcome and Vikas Marg. The youth also find the two conveniently located malls, V3S and Cross River, an enjoyable affair. Fitness freaks can always turn to the many gymnasiums and aerobic halls available. We also have good schools, kindergartens, tuition centres and institutes. The most important feature is that necessities like hospitals and healthcare centres are in close vicinity of the locality. So, I can proudly say that Krishna Nagar is a lovely place to live in, with lots of diversity and wonderful people around. ■ My attachment with the colony cannot be expressed in words, says Jaya Kaushik.
