Committee on Clean Coal Energy Policies & Technologies
The Southern States Energy Board supports the U.S. Department of Energy’s
(DOE) Office of Fossil Energy (FE) under a grant entitled “Regional Effort to
Support Clean Coal and Carbon Management Policies and Technologies.” The goal
of the program is to provide a regional effort that fosters and sustains an innovative
environment for the development of clean coal policies and technologies.

The Southern States Energy Board is an interstate compact,
comprised of governors and state legislators from sixteen
southern states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, as well
as a presidential appointee. The Board’s mission is to promote
economic development and enhance the quality of life in the
South, through innovations in energy and environmental
programs, policies and technologies.
