The first graders made candy apples as their craft. Ms. Eckert said, “Our favorite part was making our craft because it was fun to see our creativity.” They made the candy apples out of a Styrofoam ball, rolling them in red paint, and putting glitter and beans on them to represent sprinkles and nuts. Not only did they make crafts, but they played Pass the Pumpkin and they read a story as a class. They had Oreos and water as a snack and took a picture of the class in their costumes. Some of their favorite costumes were bumblebees, pirates, Ghostbusters and superheroes. It sounds like a jam-packed day! 1st grade had a blast during the fall party! 2 On October 29th, 2nd grade had a fall party. They made a fun craft and participated in a creative drawing game. Students needed to add one accessory to a drawn pumpkin on the white board. The volunteer moms tried their best to run the party smoothly. At 2:00 P.M., they put on their Halloween costumes. Ms. Jamieson’s favorite part was seeing the variety of costumes. The most creative costume was tied between Ms. Jamieson, the teacher’s apple, and Mrs. Szymanski, the laundry basket. The fourth grade fall party The fourth grade party took place on October 29th, 2010. First, the fourth graders did pumpkin science in the morning. Then, they returned to their normal schedule (with math cancelled) because of the costume parade. Most of the kids wore costumes. Some were the same and some were different. The fourth graders played a game that involved passing gourds. When the game ended, each kid got a gourd. They could decorate the gourds with sequins, googley eyes, feathers, pom-poms, and string.
