Dual Admissions and Core-to-Core Transfer
Information Sheet
Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) and University of Phoenix present a transfer program
created for working adults. To be apart of this program, you just need to
1.
Enroll in any of MCCC's AA or AS degree programs
2.
Complete a Dual Intent Form
3.
Satisfy University of Phoenix admissions requirements which include
•
minimum of 23 years of age.
•
current employment or have access to an organizational environment that will allow
completion of program coursework.
Note: For students under the age of 23, there is an appeals process for students who have a minimum
of 30 transferable credits, a minimum of 3.0 GPA and current employment with a two-year post
high school work history.
Benefits of the Dual Admission Program
The Dual Admissions agreement provides automatic transfer to the University of Phoenix and will ensure
that MCCC students have...
•
admission into any of the Bachelor programs offered.
•
$50 application fee waived.
•
associate-degree coursework, 60-72 credits, automatically transferred.
•
the tenth University of Phoenix course at no charge, provided student is continuously
enrolled and has successfully completed nine courses at the University of Phoenix.
•
dual advisement from both MCCC and University of Phoenix counseling staff.
•
customized transfer guides.
•
a core-to-core transfer which will satisfy most of University of Phoenix requirements except
for 6 total credits of both Science/Technology and Mathematics (see a University counselor
about the Math Transfer Policy).
•
completed a bachelor degree in about 2 years (depending on the program and if student
is continuously enrolled).

scheduled sequentially so that those students can concentrate on one subject at a time. Campus and
corporate on-site classes, directed study and Online delivery options are available. Classes are usually
held for four hours a night, one night each week for five or six weeks. Learning teams of 3-5 students
complete specific coursework outside of class meetings.

It is an agreement between the University of
Phoenix and Montgomery County
Community Colleges (MCCC) that provides
MCCC graduates who have completed an
AA or AS degree and submitted a Dual
Admissions Intent Form, automatic
admissions to the University of Phoenix.

How does the Dual Admissions program
work?
1) complete the Dual Admissions Intent
form, available at the MCCC Counseling
Center (Central Campus), Room 151 (West
Campus) and through the University of
Phoenix website,
www.uophx.edu/philadelpia; 2) return the
completed Dual Admissions Intent form to
one of the MCCC offices listed on the form;
3) receive an admission letter from the
University as well as periodic mailings
apprising you of program updates; 4) attend
an information meeting at the University of
Phoenix and meet University faculty and
staff.
If I complete a Dual Admissions Intent
form, am I obligated to attend the
University of Phoenix?
No. The Dual Admissions program is an
opportunity to continue your education with
minimal duplication of coursework in the
most efficient manner possible. If you
change your mind, simply advise MCCC
counseling staff.
If I enroll in distance learning courses at
the University of Phoenix, will the Dual
Admissions Agreement still apply?
Yes. The agreement applies to distance
learning and all the University of Phoenix
Campuses, including the Philadelphia Area
Campus located in Wayne, PA.
